Thanks all for the responses. I like the array of reasonings, and it definitely helps my game.

$55 5k GTD Turbo on Lock.
7 handed at final table.
Villain is a losing player over 400 games.
The remaining villains are losing players over similar sample sizes.
To have him open-shove for ~20bb leaves me confused.
If I think he's protecting his hand, I have to assume he has a mid-pair.
That said, and for ICM reasons, could you justify folding here?
If I put him on 22-QQ, we have around 45%.
Better spots or we have AK, and it's not even close?

I agree with Adam. I'd be happy to 3b jam AQ here, because he seems that he could be stealing a decent amount here, allowing you to add a good % to your stack like you mention, and I think his calling range could have worse Ax (AJ, ATs) in it as well.

I fold unsuited JT pre, too, but let's get to the range discussion for him. If he is a reg, his range can be very wide here, and I think it's a bad spot for you to do anything but fold. If you think he is bluffing, are you calling down if the turn is a J or T? What turns do you think are good for us with J high, facing a raise to a cbet? And after both checking the turn, are you representing a middle pair or flush? We don't have a King here, so I'm not sure what hands make our line of play make sense.

I think that if you are limping to induce, you should realize that you aren't folding--no matter the action--and situations like this, where you fold JJ preflop with 10bb, are straight kicks to your pants. If this were lower stakes and you wanted to induce, a minraise would probably work better, because they won't understand that stacks are not deep enough for fold equity. They will probably shove over with any pair and a wider range of aces, where a shove could convince them to fold their 22-66, weaker aces, etc.

I discovered poker in 2004, during my senior year in high school. During my first 2 years in college, I played a little online and a lot at local home games. I decided to drop out of college during my junior (09) year to pursue poker full-time and did so up until Black Friday. After that, I went back to the real world and finish up my bachelor's. Iowa State University even did an article on me returning to school--lol; it can be found here: http://www.iowastatedaily.com/news/article_bdbeb8f8-da5b-11e0-b4cf-001cc4c002e0.html?mode=story
Upon graduating last fall, I followed a girl (obviously didn't work out) and moved to Denver, Colorado. I jumped into the corporate world and decided to play a couple hrs per week on Lock Poker to indulge my nostalgia. Then, a few weeks ago while friends were visiting, they asked why I didn't follow my passion and move out of the US to play full-time again. I was amazed with myself when I didn't have an answer. I'm no longer tied down to a location, so I am going for it. My passion and love for the virtual felt is taking me to Copenhagen, Denmark in August, where I'll be grinding with my friend and old roommate, bigoots.

P.S. I came here to start studying the game again :D
