AQ w/23.5bb's early on day 2 of a live tourney
Background info:
It was a £220/$350 buy in w/110/341 players left (35 paid).
It was the second orbit of day 2, and the loosest player (stronger player at the table imo) at the table (having played 4 hands in just under 2 orbits) opens the HJ (we have almost identical stacks) to 4.6k (1k/2k/200), I have AQ on the BTN and elected to just 3b jam 47k (23.5bb's) into the 9.4k pot, figuring I would add 20%+ to my stack without showdown most of the time, and given the fact my stack didn't feel all that playable.
Q's:
- Am I wrong about my stack-size not being that playable?
- At what point does 3b jamming your stack become too much? 20, 25, 30 bb's?
- Is there an argument to flat (obv risking the blinds coming in, although they could pot squeeze/jam worse hands than mine) with a view to trying to take it away on the flop or turn?
- Should I consider making it 5x?
FWIW the board ran out T high, and I don't want to be too results orientated etc, just wanted to ask the above questions with regards to general tournament strategy.
Thanks in advance guys,
Matt
