You are right, in most spots, when using single betting size instead of multiple sizing, the bet range loses EV. So there is the trade off between simplicity and EV loss. More details are cover in toy gaming 3 or MOP p.152.

First, I'm so sorry to dig this stupid question out again. But I searched in the threads, was not able to get a straightforward answer for that. Please forward if there is one. Much thanks in advanced.
This question is raised recently in a popular Chinese poker discussion group. Even some solid regs still hold the opinion that GTO strategy is nothing but just a 0 ev strategy ignoring the range difference.
So the question is:
Suppose we are using GTO strategy playing against a non-GTO player, is hero's EV always gonna be zero?
So guys, what's your opinion on the question?
