The less tilt is our goal :D
As far as the flop pushing etc I think he ll manage to play without that in mind since I don't think it's a good idea! Your pointing it though makes me want to advice him strongly against it :D

Hello I have decided to help my friend who is very skilled person to be successful at poker (mastering video and all strategy games he has played - and that is a lot) also in 20k hands PLO -played some months ago- I have already coached him and the signs / results / stats are more than satisfying.
I have decided to boost him so he doesn't give up so our goal is to climb ASAP!!! with my bankroll at his disposal for absorbing the variance.
My current plan is like this but ANY ideas and suggestions are welcome.
He ll be starting at
20 BI's PLO2 ----- win 10 BI's ---- PLO5 ---- win 15 BI's ----- PLO10----- win 20 BI's PLO25 ---- HERE boosting and aggro management stops and we reconsider hopefully when we get there! --- dropping to previous stake when losing half of the won amount (eg lose 10$ go back PLO5----PLO2)
I ll be absorbing his EV swings ( he ll be winning losing only his EV + RB)
Of course I ll get him read the forum here analyze etc...
I hope the explanation of my plan is easy enough to read and not tiring!
How does this look to u - can we go more aggressive? What else would be contributing to our goal?
Hope for some creative ideas and input! Thank you for your time .

As I said at the time he had 0 x /raise so I thought it was worth risk value/protection betting.
The non nut draw and possibly some reverse implied odds on flush or non nut rivers are the reasons for my fold.

BB: $105.82
UTG: $243.33
HJ: $412.58 (Hero)

Cool video :) nice clean talk and analysis.
At the AKK9 hand I think you play with poker chips or something that is a bit disturbing :)
Keep it up

My (not so precise) real time analysis was really close to yours.
I am new at the stake and don't have many notes on those 2. I was surely perceived as the tight player on the table.
And even on my post session analysis I can't find a call on the flop.
Folding to the 3b and keeping the variance down is a thought I did not make at the time the double suited with position seemed more than enough to call, seems its not a mandatory call after all !
Thanks!

bb is 58/34/17.4% 3b

preflop flat is ok ? or you 5bet? OTF do you snap with the 2nd pair ? or fold ?
Something tells me i really messed up.... lets see what do you think!

EDIT TO TELL OUR HOLE CARDS

I think I would choose this board to raise given we also have TPTK

Great post again!
Very pleased to see the hand analyzed in a nice and thorough way!
I totally agree with your analysis, I didn't judge myself when I reviewed the hand. But was not sure If its too weird to call and re-evaluate as I did at the time.
Feb. 26, 2013 | 9:16 p.m.
villain is 70/14/10 % 3b over 100 hands 39 AG%
I was almost convinced to fold on the flop since, in my opinion his range is too nutty!
On the other hand the min raise and the fact that he is aggro weaker player made me call.
I don't know what I do on most turns I guess re-evaluate? Do you prefer folding or shoving on the flop?
I really seem to have problem on what to take into account vs weaker players and weird plays like that.
What is your thought process on such spots?
Feb. 26, 2013 | 2:40 p.m.
On the button with a "safe" hand that has some substantial equity against even full houses, that we have to assume are not that often. I think its not a mistake to raise the range you plug in
(maybe we should increase his VPIP in your calcs since he is OTB and in a multiway pot pre already - I admit I am not that experienced with ProPokerTools thanks for the help)
Feb. 21, 2013 | 11:33 a.m.
We need 44.97 % to stack off (note that he cant have 22 often enough to begine with)
against a range of (AQxx , Acc , A2xx , 22xx , A34x) - I put AQxx since I think we have to be ahead some of the time -
AsKhTh7s 46.83%
AQxx , Acc , A2xx , 22xx , A34x 53.17%
AsKhTh7s 41.73%
Acc , A2xx , 22xx , A34x 58.27%
AsKhTh7s 38.48%
A2xx , 22xx 61.52%
I dont know I think I cant fold but seems close !
Feb. 16, 2013 | 4:37 p.m.
Both really made very good points!
About the btn folds , and the EP calling .
I think that I have become looser defending with pairs which has to be not a good thing.
I ll try to readjust and find the reasons not to call a 3b since it seems on the sessions I want to call the 3b more than fold :P
Got to beat the fish inside me I guess :)
Feb. 16, 2013 | 4:09 p.m.
I am folding 17% to a 3b (9% EP 15% MP 20%COp 21% BTN) I surprise myself folding more in btn, (maybe folding in MP an CO is more logical since 3b mostly will come from a btn raise.
Anyway what would be the basic criteria to consider folding or calling v 3b.
I have some in mind ofc :P But I d rather just here your thoughts on the matter :)
Any empirical percentages are welcome!
Feb. 15, 2013 | 10:12 a.m.
btn is 32/20/4% 3b (8% btn 3b) 35% AG%
I am having an arguement with my friend whether it is preferable to flat the 3b pre or pot 4bet and commit in most flops.
Any thoughts ?
What would you guys think
Feb. 11, 2013 | 2:36 p.m.
Didnt think about having to flip a lot in rebuys early, maybe you are right.
If so they ll become much more violatile and maybe I should think of the the buy in size of my rebuys.
Jan. 18, 2013 | 6:49 p.m.
I agree that maybe seeing cheap flops early and giving the opportunity to weaker players to overplay or pay more with hands they shouldnt will help building a stack.
So I assume flatting wider and limping behind may be more of a choice ??
Maybe 3betting for isolation is not such a great option ?
Jan. 18, 2013 | 5:35 p.m.
If so what do you consider to be the basic adjustments from cash games ?
I know it sounds a bit too abstract a question but I ve been climbing to PLO100 and not sure what I do right or wong when I try some low stakes MTT.
Also I have never seriously played NLHE MTTs so dont consider too much for granted knowledge!
Thanks in advance , and bring it on!

Also agree with the thought that its sooo hard we dont have the best hand,.
Dec. 10, 2012 | 1:07 a.m.
Dec. 10, 2012 | 12:30 a.m.
Both UTG and UTG +1 are TAGs (3bettor has a 6% 3bet from UTG +1)
I wanted to try not to cold 4bet there for deception (which is clearly my standard play) and I am not sure if its a good choice.
I think calling flop is pretty easy (is it possible I can raise??)
I am Betting the turn since he wouldn't check any 2pair or sets I guess (which he should not have often - with the exception of J9xx). Checking turn behind seems that I will be guessing on a lot of rivers plus not taking value from worst hands.
When he jams the river I think I am facing a bluff too frequently since I think I have much better hand than I am supposed to.
Any thoughts? I am really not sure about any street (preflop is really kind of experimenting plus I don't think its that bad of a play)

Really appreciate your input and detailed analysis! :)
Nice place to be here ;)
Dec. 9, 2012 | 11:37 p.m.
I really mean exclusively my oop 3b range (something I clearly learned from you to be really tight in while in small stakes :) )
Its true that I possibly give the bb too much credit and he is forced to play his hand straightforward with the weak UTG player still to act!

Dec. 9, 2012 | 3:34 p.m.
(I have problems posting hands through HEM 2 so I posted on weaktight -as suggested - sorry for that)
I am sb bb is a tight reg and UTG is a fishier player - which is the main reason I 3b oop that hand, some times I would avoid that vs UTG reg since I think I reveal too much my hand strength.
Are flop and turn checks good? If the 3rd heart did not hit the turn I would bet turn I guess. The bb possibly thinks I am really AAxx heavy.
Was really lost on the hand main reason being oop against both reg and weaker player.

I just joined the site and I tried to upload a hand from Pokerstars PLO.
I am getting an "Invalid hand message" I thought I try 2-3 more hands and I keep getting the same message.
The way I try is I export hand to *.txt file from HEM2 hand replayer. Open the file and copy paste the text.
I am sorry if it is something too obvious I am making wrong, just anxious to be able to post some hand!
Dec. 9, 2012 | 2:07 a.m.
I am climbing up PLO and I am a bit troubled about trying more tables or sticking to my usual 4-6.
I have 8bb/100 on PLO50 and not sure what would be my best choice in the long run, more tables will possibly slow my game improvement but increase my hourly.
Would appreciate any thoughts.
Very nice presentation and very cleanly expressed thoughts.
I just renewed my RIO membership, was not familiar with you, but I am really impressed with your clear thinking style!
There are cases of countries like mine that have access to very few sites (due to country regulations). Namely almost only pokerstars.
What you think is a realistic achievable win rate 4x tabling 4 (non zoom) PLO100 tables in pokerstars given the rake of course?
Thank you for your time Andreas!
