I just modeled a spot and got a result I can't figure out. I know that programs like PIO Solver will sometimes produce outputs that seem strange or non-intuitive at first but usually when I think about what certain combos block/unblock it makes sense to me.
It has UTG jamming the following range:
25.2%, 22+ A2s+ A4o+ K7s+ KTo+ Q9s+ QJo JTs
And MP1 reshoving:
7.4%, 99+ 77 A9s+ AJo+
I can't figure out why it would be reshoving 77 and folding 88. Any ideas?

Hey Alex, at 25:40 table 1 will you have a flop leading range in this situation or do you check full range?

That would be NLO you can't open shove 2.2k in PLO when the pot is only 300.

This was shortly after the money, with about 900 players left. Blinds are 2k-4k, Hero has about 70 k and is in the big blind with 9 10 of diamonds. Early position player opens to 8k and gets flatted from an older player 2 spots to his left. Both players start the hand with over 200k, hero calls in the big blind. Flop is q52 with the queen of diamonds and is checked around, turn is the jack of diamonds. What do we do here? Do we lead and call off? check/shove. I would appreciate some comments, thanks guys.

I would fold preflop to the initial open don't think this hand plays well as anything but a fold, as played I get it in pretty happily on flop though.

Big congrats to the boss Phil Galfond on defeating a stacked FT to win his second bracelet in the 10k nl 2-7 single draw!

Any chance you could post a link to that Ike post?

Jeans was in the elite invitational series although that's obviously not really the ideal format we (plo guys at least) want to see him in. I'm curious to hear about this as well, hopefully they've just been busy!
P.S. I'm not sure if this is the best forum for this, I think people usually use the about RIO forum to ask about coaches?

Haven't played on Stars in a long time but it's nice to see they haven't adjusted the preflop hand ranking chart and KQo still trumps AA as the immortal nuts.

Is How I Met Your Mother secretly gto for poker? I never really got into it saw a few episodes thought it was decent. Main reason I'm asking is because aside from you guys bringing it up I recently discovered Otb_RedBaron's name on a popular poker forum is derived from the show and if HE'S doing it...

He's only scheduled to release a video every other month so I personally would like them as long as he prefers!

:-) Ansky's exact thought process might be a bit above my head at the moment as I've recently heard a lot of the very best players ranking him super high in their plo 6m rankings. I was just extrapolating off the assumption that when betting a polarized range you usually want to be using larger sizings. I would be curious to hear what some of our resident experts think. I'm also starting to think this might play better in the flop checking range although it is nice of course to have some nutty hands on board pairing turns as the flop bettor here.

I don't understand what you're saying because at first it seems you're saying he always has the nuts but then at the very end mention his bluffs. Also from what I know about Ansky I find it highly unlikely that is his thought process unless he's just trying to massively exploit OP. I think we're thinking about this spot a bit differently not that there's anything wrong with that.

A+ thread anybody know what the RT means?
May 23, 2015 | 11:13 p.m.
I agree the only hands that could really bluff raise are AAxx and KKxx and I assume a ton of those would 3b pre so we're usually not getting raised off more than 10% equity.
May 23, 2015 | 10:04 p.m.
I think this is a very straightforward river fold. I'm surprised nobody has mentioned this yet but Ansky used extremely small sizings on both flop and turn and river was only about 60% pot as well. When he chooses to use these sizings I find it extremely unlikely he is polarized to AhXh or just the Ah blocker as people seem to be basing their analysis on and find it much more likely his value range is expanded to include 2nd and maybe 3rd nut flushes as well (3rd may check river though).

I don't think the preflop raise is very good either I don't think raising in general is bad I just don't like the sizing I would raise at least full pot if not more.

I'm just not understanding why 67cc (or really any 67 combo to a lesser degree) makes sense. The 3b would be ok I guess if you're going super merged but I don't understand why you'd x/c K54cc donk lead 1/2 pot on 9 that puts a bdfd and then over bet shove >2x pot when board pairs 5 and you block missed draws.

Interesting, can't play on stars so I didn't know the specifics but that's pretty funny that some of the "millionaires" they're making are FPP ones!
