solid video, eagerly waiting for part 2

I actually like this open, 8handed, we have a blocker, three guys would most likely either reshove or fold, we would also have to call the BB, which makes it a better open than usual from utg - it should give us more credit

i think it's readdependent whether you should call it off here or not. 36/13 doen't look like the guy knows what he's doing. I'd rather just laugh after that action, fold and move on most of the time if I don't have any strong reads on the guy. In my experience, v can have a lot of hands.
Yeah, he might have random clubdraws, and some broadways which didn't connect with this board. But he also could have some weak Jacks (I have a pair, I dont wanna get outdrawn, I iz all-in!); in fact I think there are many J's in his callingrange.
Also he could have some pocketpairs which he decided to play in a weird way.
V could also decide to just shove with some hands he didn't want to fold pf and thinks they are too pretty to let go, such as 67s,78s etc. He is "angry" that he hasn't hit and just decides to push and pray to win the pot.
Don't think it's an "easy call", but I don't think a call is bad either.

let's pretend we take that line:
flop 480: v bets 260, hero raises 725 (?), v calls. -
turn 1950: hero bets 925 (pot: 2875 and v has 5076 left before acting); v calls -
river 3900: v has ~4k left
and now i don't know what to do and feel pretty sick if I didn't get there. I don't think we are betting for value (I don't think we bet for value the strees before either). So shoving seems like the only option to try and get v to fold out tptk and QQ+, which might or might not be very likely, completely depends on villain (and the rivercard)
Once we reach the river, I can't see J8 being the best hand so we basically always lose at showdown to whatever hand he decided to get this far with. That being said, only option to mayyybe win this pot is by betting and bet pretty big imo and hope he folds.
Of course there is a chance that v "herofolds" something better on the turn, but looking at the board and the fact he called a check-raise otf I highly doubt it.
I'm usually not a fan of calling down to the river and then check-fold if unimproved, but I think it's my plan for this spot, not sure if it's very good though.

without looking deeply into the math (not much time and a lil' lazy), I think the peel pf is not great and I'd rather fold.
It's interesting that villain has such a high 3bet% while he shows off with 23/15 PF stats, as such numbers tend me to believe he is not good. Also, I don't like the fact that he makes it 3x your open and he has position. The 3x and the 23/15 thing leeds me to think he is not folding pre.
Once we see that flop and he bets, there is 0 chance to get away imo. I'd play it the same way you did. Check-calling flop seems gross, since we will most likely just see 1 card.

don't know what issues you have with just reshoving without much thought, I'd gii 100% here.
HJ basically never (while i shouldn't say never) has KK/AA; once in a while he has QQ but that's pretty rare and I think that would be the only hand with which he'd call your jam, maybe with JJ (I'd probably fold TT in his shoes once u reshove). But overall I think he can have all kinds of hands given your and his stack. So just iso reraise AI seems best. gl
really great vid and awesome content :)
