Hey Sam
Very quick question:
28:30 - AK - What do you do if he jams your C-Bet in this spot?
This happened to me in a live tournament at the weekend and I'm interested to hear your view.

I think its a calculated risk and vs a player who is playing 80% of hands, I think this would be as good a spot as any, especially on the type of boards we mentioned, where this is just one over card to our pocket pair.

Defo defending here, although I don't think shoving is as bad as it sounds, especially if he is playing as many hands as you say. You could also check shove a ton of boards (EG where there is say just 1 overcard), to pick up the extra cbet that is no doubt coming too.

Great video Phil, would love to see more videos from you playing low-mid stakes NLHE.

Think I'm check calling this river 100% of the time, unless of course sizing is ridic.

I'd be interested in seeing how some of the top pro's use
HM2 to work on their game away from the table. HM2 seems to be such a
powerful tool, and I can't help but feel like I'm only using it to 5% of
its capacity.

As the title suggests, I was wondering whether there is a section on RIO, where members can request certain content in a future video series?
I'd be particularly interested in seeing how some of the top pro's use HM2 to work on their game away from the table. HM2 seems to be such a powerful tool, and I can't help but feel like I'm only using it to 5% of its capacity.
Cheers,

keep me relaxed during sessions. This is great for combating tilt
issues, combined with playing shorter sessions.

Did you get lucky at any point leading up to the last 65 players? Variance is insane, no doubt about it, but players also only remember when they got unlucky, never the other way around :)
Try playing a few smaller field tourneys, like the 500 cap ones, or 180 mans.

Hey Guys,
I recently read on two different poker blogs about some leaderboards for cash games on PokerStars, and how this site is basically another PTR, which tracks players stats.
PokerStars claim not to know anything about it, so I'm wondering how legit it really is? After further digging, it appears it was spoken about as early as 2012 on 2+2.
Also, with it being quite secretive (apparently its invite only and you need a referral code to join, which existing members sell you for like $100), I'm wondering whether there are other risks associated with this site? On the face of thigs, it seems strange that its an invite only thing, that you pay for, on top of the subscription fee to the site, and Stars claims to know nothing about it.
Are there other security threats/considerations associated with this?
How can stars security not be on top of this 3rd party, with seemingly unlimited access to all of their data?
Does anyone else use this, whats your thoughts on it?

Just fancied taking a shot at it. Outplayed zugwat in a pot which made my day ;)
Joking aside, yeah I noticed its a very tough line up, only played like 2k hands before moving back down to 200 6M. Shame the 200 FR hardly ever runs :(
Thanks for the feedback.

On reflection, I think the post flop play is fine, could have maybe 4b pre tho given how LAG he is.

You said several times that reg a, b, c etc are really bad,
and kept emphasising that without stating why, or how you go about exploiting each
of them vs their tendencies. It would be
great if you could elaborate slightly in future.
Enjoyed the video overall though, lots of logical thought
processes well-articulated.

Fantastic video Raphael. I’ve recently moved up from 100 FR zoom to 200 & 500 6M
zoom, and noticed the player pool in 500 zoom is fairly small and reg heavy;
therefore I’m assuming you’re more likely have strong reads on most players? It would be great if you could touch a little
on the specific reads and notes you have on these players at some point and how these influence your decision making etc. Certainly note taking is an area I need to
improve on :)
As for the overall content, I really enjoyed this video and
as mentioned above, 4 tabling would certainly fill some of the voids, although
it wasn’t too bad with two tables. I agree with Dado’s comment about you explaining how you would react to a certain
play a villan may or may not make, this is something I wish more of the other
RIO pro’s did.
On a side note I’m surprised you don’t have stats such as
total steal, btn steal, 3b vs steal stats on your main HUD, as they vary
drastically and the basic VPIP/PFR/3b stats can be quite misleading.

Great video Brian, keep em coming.
Would defo appreciate more info on sizing in future vids.

When you made a small 3b from the SB with AA vs. the CO open, you rightly said it looks too strong, and you would have preferred a call or 3b jam. I agree with you on this, but on this note, shouldn't we be looking to make these very strong looking small 3b’s vs. certain steal attempts with hands which contain blockers, e.g. suited (to ensure we aren't getting carried away with it) Broadway cards?
Taking this a little further, even hands that we are happy to 3b jam with, why not make this strong looking small 3b to hopefully fold out some hands that the villain may otherwise be more inclined to call a jam with, and in doing so reducing our variance slightly?
14.23 (AJ on AJ9) I’m not sure I would have dismissed a check as easily as you did. When we flop 2 pair on this board texture, I feel it’s too hard for the villain to have anything most of the time, so why not check where the villain may put us on an under pair or suited connectors which didn’t connect? The fact he flatted looks strong, and he knows this, therefore he maybe more inclined to stab if we check to him, assuming he has no showdown value?
44.27 (A7o BB vs. BTN open) I'm definitely more in favour of 3b with this hand and trying to take it down pre-flop. It’s likely we have the best hand and I don't feel it plays too well OOP if we don’t flop an ace, I feel we’re making it too easy for a someone to blow us off what is likely the best hand.
Suggestion for future videos with this format: It might be more useful if you can prepare by watching the video yourself, making bullet point notes and comments, then when you come to record it you can get through much more
content, with less pausing. I’m sure if this turns out to be a 4-part
series, it could well have covered just as much ground in 2 parts.
That said, cool video James, it’s very refreshing to hear you question and suggest improvements to your own plays made in game.

I'm an elite member, but just thinking if this is too difficult to introduce from a technichal point of view (I appreciate you probably have a back log of jobs to do etc), how about allowing all essential members to vote on a short list of videos from elite pros? Most voted video wins? Guess this would be a little easier to implement than allowing all essential members to choose any elite video per month?

As Tom said.
I generally look for reasons to open pots, particularly in late position, but making sure you adapt quickly to your table. If you start getting played back at, you obv need to tighten up somewhat.
Pay attention to every hand to pick u reads on players and figure out how they are playing etc. Avoid spending too much time on your ipad and iphone etc.
Good luck, let us know how you get on!

Also, as an after thought, he doesn't need to check raise the flop, as he'd be getting his stack in anyways.
