Hello RIO community, just signed up last week for an essential membership, the goal is to move up to elite sooner than later, but trying to keep the meager BR I have on Merge intact until it's feasible to cash out some and purchase it with that. I've watched a few videos and read through some posts (just getting my feet wet) and I'm impressed with the serious desire to improve by many, as I too have that desire more than ever.
Anyway, before black Friday I was a member at both PXF and CR and took my approach to poker seriously (or so I thought) but I was never disciplined enough to really succeed (played too much golf, wasted too much time not studying or reviewing), and since, I wouldn't consider myself as having played much more than very sparse online or live until the last few months when I've once again started to find the passion for playing (and the work needed for making it profitable). Anyway just wanted to make a post to get myself started here on a new path, and I think I'll be making a journal, mostly for myself to ensure that I'm putting myself out there in order to maintain focus and progress. I'm not saying I want to be a full-time professional, or play at the highest stakes at the Bellagio, but I need to structure a solid game for myself and now is when that starts.
Currently, I only play on Carbon, mostly I love MTTS, though due to life transition (new baby on the way), I'll be switching to a cash-focused learning approach because of its more flexible schedule.
Thanks and good luck!
Zig
Thanks for the couple responses! Lol as it turns out, baby came, seven weeks early, and in a move of semi-panic I cashed out as much as I could, leaving myself a little to play with, but now have some extra cash to invest in the elite membership which I promptly did today (Highly interested in much of the theoretical side of the instruction)! Now I'll have to focus on study for the next few weeks until I figure out life. Peace! GLGL!
