Just got back from a 1/2 session, I bought in for $200 and busted after about 2 hours of playing. Here are two major hands that caused me to lose a lot of money, I guess any helpful advice would be appreciated but I think (especially on the first hand) I just need to learn how to fold TPTK in a situation like this one.
Hand #1
utg limps, +1 limps, fold, fold, Hero raises $12 with AKo, fold, button calls, small blind calls, big blind calls, utg folds, utg +1 folds. Pot=$45 flop= A 5 6 rainbow. Check, check, Hero ($170) raises $20, button($90) raises to $50, fold, fold. Here I tank and the guy in the hand calls clock on me...... I keep thinking and then say all in right before I run out of time and he calls. Turn is a 3 and river is an 8 (blanks basically). Villain flips over A6dd and wins the pot.
Hand #2
fold, +1 limps, Hero ($90) raises to $10 with JJ, I get three callers: cutoff, small blind, big blind. Flop($30) K 9s 7s. Check, check, Hero raises $18, cutoff folds, small blind calls, big blind folds. Turn($65) 2 of hearts. Villain checks, I go all in, villain calls (had me covered). Villain flips over KQo and river blanks.
Any thoughts?
