So you gave 3 points. The bold part is where I feel I need the most work.

I play quite nitty and have been working on being less so. I've played plenty of shortstack, but I'm just trying to figure out if I should be playing looser preflop in general while in MTTs. Change to a more LAG stye or stay where I'm at. I suppose selectively loose to exploit is probably the right answer.

As far as gambler's ruin, this is definitely a place where I have made mistakes in the past. Calling all-in with basically an EV of 0 is massively negative in terms of $ equity. This is something I will be more cognizant of.

I think I understand ICM intuitively. While I haven't played MTTs (I hate the time commitement and huge variance.) I have played plenty of turbo SNGs and even hypers. My ICM game is reasonable and I've found it to be surprisingly accurate in SNG decisions when tested against an ICM calc.

Thank you for your thoughts.

Background/Intro - I've been playing poker since Planet Poker. (first internet $$ site). I beat online poker for years in various formats, although there were times it seemed I could no longer beat lhe. Just standard midstakes grinder. In my town live I am known as one of the better players.I understand poker at a pretty high level, but I'm no Gman or others on here.

So after quitting poker for years I came back and have been beating up the newly formed cash games around town. However I want to play in some tournaments every now and then... Give them another shot ! Some of these regional tournaments that are 2k+ seem to have a decent amount of value.

My question is, what are some good resources for this? Specifically the adjustments for an established cash game player to do better in MTTs? I've actually played SNGs and am ok with short stacks. What are the main adjustments I need to make from a standard ABC nitty (yet good) poker style to do better at tournaments? I know if you have a big stack, you can pick on little stacks. Also - this is for live tournaments. If I have a big stack, I suppose I avoid spots with other big stacks without obvious edge. I'd like to hear a true expert talk about these things, or a well thought out article- even better. Suggestions anyone?

One way of putting it, I'm not looking for a 'how to play tournaments' video. I want a 'this is where how we play cash vs mtt games differently'.. since most videos go over specific hands.
