Are you saying that shoving 23bbs from the cutoff is a good idea?
Well, if the other stacks are shorter, which it seems they are, it could be Jam. however, if they were all at 23bbs, i would have to say it's a standard fold.

Hey Todd- Thanks so much for your awesome advice.
I am still having difficulty understanding the concept of being "pot-committed,"
Here is a break down of that KJo hand @39:00 bottom right screen. Could you please tell me if my math setup is correct, and from here, how I can derive an answer for it. Thanks again so much dude! WFB

2000/4000/800 PREFLOP POT 12,400
effective BB: 8,250 = 12,400 * .66

Villains BB: 26,000 / 4,000 = 6.5
Villains effective BB: 26,000 / 8,250 = 3.15
Hero's BB: 25,000 / 4,000 = 6.25
Hero's effective BB: 25,000 / 8.250 = 3.00

Villain with 26,000 raised to 8,000. Now he is at 18,000.
And the pot is at 12,400 + 8,000 = 20,400

Hero's BB: 25,000
When you shoved over, it would be 8,000 + (your reaming stack of 13,000).
So it would be Pot + His Raise + Your Shove = 20,400 + 25,000 = 45,400.

My understanding is that the Villain has the chance to risk his remaining 18,000 to win 45,400.

Which is 2.52 to 1 ( I think that is how the maths works).

Is this thought process correct? If so, what do I need to do to derive a correct answer from it.
As in, with 32o you should fold but with top 89% hands, it is a +EV call...

Thanks again dude!!! WFB

Todd, If you could send the the HH for that hand, I could run it through wiz and post a pic of its suggestions.

Hey dude, great video. Around @39:00 in the Bottom Right, HyperTurbo when the dude Min-Raises Folds with like 5bbs... I know its a horrible thing to do, but I don't know WHY it is so terrible. Could you please explain that spot a bit more and at what point you are willing to Min-Raise fold?
Thanks! wfb

I would have to say that the way ICM measures your stack (aka equity) is a bit wacky at times. Most of the time it works fine, however, it overvalues small stacks, and for superturobs, your chance of coming back from 1-2bbs is rather slim. The other flaw isn't so much to do with ICM rather SngWiz. Its calling and shoving ranges are rather unrealistic. Its hand range scale will have people shoving with A2o over KT and such, and that is not how people play the games.

Post | weezy posted in MTT: General Stack Size Rules in MTTs
Hi Guys-

I'm a SuperTurbo player transition into MTTs, so this whole more than 10BB poker is baffling to me. I was wondering if there are any general rules as to what lines you can or cannot take depending on your stack size. For example, the rule we all know well is with under 10BBs, you can only push / fold / call profitably, I was wondering if there are similar rules for playing with stacks like
10-20bb, 20-30bb, 30-50bb, 50bb+ etc...
I guess a perfect problem I am dealing with is: At what point can you no longer 3-bet without pot-committing yourself?
In addition, how do yall measure your stack? Do you use TourneyM, adjusted BB, or just raw BB?

Thanks and glglgl,
WFB

I've played like 50,000 too many Superturobs. ICM is beautiful because on the surface, it's as straight forward as poker could be [ie: push or fold] and it's just mathematically correct. However, diving deeper, the flaws become shockingly apparent. I'd be happy to address any of your thoughts or questions, as I find the best way to learn is with questions from interested peers... Is there anything specific you would like to know?

Can you post the actual HH. If so I'll run it through wiz and find the results. My guess is shoving 44 from the c/o with 23bbs wiz no likey.
