I assumed that villain will call 140$ bet w AQ+ and 280$ with 2pair+ and in some % with AQ+.

My strategy with overbet is any straight + high cards (KsQs, KsJs, QsJs) , the strategy with 140$ bet is just bet 2pairs+. Because villain calls 140$ bet in 88% i cant include any bluffs in it

So my conclusion is if villain calls shove with AQ,AK in less than 30% then overbet is the most profitable strategy otherwise 140$ bet with just 2pairs+ is better

P.S. Found minor mistakes in my tree later but it changes nothing

Romanian opponent, quite calling stational
I misread that hand a little bit thought it was 5 handed and i was MP effectively.
The guy 3bet my late positions opens more than vs average opponent.

Preflop ($3.00) (4 Players)
Hero was dealt J Q
Hero raises to $6, BN folds, SB folds, BB raises to $18, Hero calls $14
Flop ($41.00) A T 6 (2 Players)
BB bets $21, Hero calls $21
Turn ($83.00) 9 (2 Players)

Comment | vovochka commented on Value or too thin?

AA blocks way to much of his 5bet/shoving combos and vs a guy with wide 3bet my default play is to call AA.

Villian is new seems to be a reg guy
30/22 3bet ~10. And quite loose 3bet from sb vs UTG, MP and CO (~13) but only 700 hands on him
Preflop ($3.00) (6 Players)
Hero was dealt A A
UTG folds, Hero raises to $6, CO folds, BN folds, SB raises to $19, BB folds, Hero calls $14

converter messed a little bit. He opened 4.75 i 3bet to 12. Confused too because almost noone opens for that amount pre. So should have raised to 14. But normally i 3bet 2.5x IP
As postflop i now think the best way is to call down unless spade hit.

BB: $327.02
HJ: $647.35
CO: $265
BTN: fishy 28/10, passive straightforward player
CO: reg, but tricky imo. Didnt play with him much. Stats: 30/22 F3B: 50, stab turn 60, fold to cbet (3bet pot) 28
Preflop ($3.00) (5 Players)
Hero was dealt Q Q
HJ folds, CO raises to $6, BN calls $6, Hero raises to $23, BB folds, CO calls $18, BN calls $18
Flop ($74.00) 2 5 8 (3 Players)
Hero bets $35, CO calls $35, BN folds
Having fish behind i think he will be floating much less (Maybe i am wrong)
Turn ($144.00) 8 (2 Players)
Hero checks, CO checks
I slow down here with many hands a lot. With bluffs, overpairs. I think i mostly bet here semi bluffs, full houses, trips. Maybe AA.
River ($144.00) 9 (2 Players)
Hero bets $84, CO raises to $206, Hero folds
On the river my plan was to extract value from his TT-JJ, some hero bluff catchers

Maybe my line looked weak and he decided to turn smth into a bluff or maybe he was the best right from the flop.

What are your thoughts?
Final Pot
CO wins $308

My logic was similar to Teddy's. It's definitely a value bet on turn. Also i think villain mostly float suited diamond or clubs AX. So its more of a river decision

and pot is big enough

Sept. 5, 2013 | 6:04 p.m.

because on turn he can have hands weaker then ours

Sept. 5, 2013 | 6:03 p.m.

Now i convinced that pushing turn OOP is the best option. IP call-call is better

Sept. 4, 2013 | 3:48 p.m.

no. I said even w/o this thin combos we have 3 sets of 99. And unknown bluff %. It can be quite valuavle mistake to fold to the price of 88 to win 513. So maybe shipping turn is better

Sept. 4, 2013 | 3:02 p.m.

There is as small problem. I was trying to think about his range he can have like 13 flush combos 3 set combo (i assume he would've raise set on flop). So its a tight value shipping range for him

But we still beat 3/16 combos (18.5%) and we have to be right like 17% plus he can have couple % of bluffs and thinner value like A9,AQ,A4... who knows

My record was i think 1600 bb blow ev ,  in 5 k day

Aug. 13, 2013 | 2:42 a.m.

i dont think i should be very balanced here. Ofc sometimes i do overbets with nuts where guys really want to call me and almost never bet themselves. But in this spot i think it either a check fold or i try to represent very strong hand which i can easily have by previous action.

April 13, 2013 | 2:07 p.m.

ok thanks guys. I was actually on SB and turned my 77 into a bluff by making this overbet. Unfortunately BB shipped over my bet.
If everyone thinks that's an easy fold so my bluff vs their range was good )
