Reporting back after a week at the WSOP. Here's some things that worked well for me.

  • Get snacks and sandwich at CVS.
It's right next to Paris. I tried ordering Doordash, too slow and painful to meet them during breaks. Also tried pokermeals delivery service that meets you inside the casino. Food is healthy but not that tasty and costs $30+ per meal.

  • Know your plan during breaks
Usually 20 mins first break, 20 mins second break, 30 mins third break. etc I'll eat a big breakfast that should get me through the day, then snacks/fruits during the first two and a sandwich during the 30 min one. thanks TRUEPOWER for the advice! I tried shoving a whole meal down during a break and I felt and played terrible.

  • Use Bravo/TBIC if you can
Just used my phone to buy in and re-enter quickly. The lines to register are long. FYI you can NOT deposit winnings back into Bravo this year. I heard you can do that with WSOP tournament account but i dont have that

  • Get rest
I bought an eye mask and that kept the light out. Also downloaded a free white noise machine just in case people were loud in the hall or next door. Also stopped checking social media every day was a good exercise. im addicted to social so just getting away and focusing completely on cards was great. I'm a terrible sleeper so even when I was up at 4am in the morning I just forced myself to lay there. I was decently rested even with 5 hrs of straight sleep a night. Hoping to get that closer to 8 hrs during the main. Any advice on sleep is appreciated.

  • Non-smokers
The walk to the horseshoe side is really rough. The ventilation feels non-existent. You may want to grab a filtered mask or something. One of the mornings I had a start on that side and actually felt dizzy from inhaling too much of it on the way there. im gonna do some research and see if N-95 masks work for it

Hope some of this helps and hope to see ya'll for the Main event!

Jeremy Ausmus do you eat full meals or only do snacks? curious about your recommendations

posing this question for everyone else too and curious about your best suggestions. i've been searching for delivery to the table i'm playing and have only found pokermeals. might try them and looking for more options.

Kevin Martin months later, even after trying courses on other sites, this is the best explainer for this type of strategy. feeling good for the WSOP now. thanks for this series

Great format to go through all the hands with commentary and reviewing the solver.

Gives a lot of reps as a viewer because I can think through what I would do in a spot, hear your thought process and evaluate it against my own. You consider many things in hands that I do not and it helps me learn quickly.

Sam Greenwood Been thinking through your reply for awhile before responding now

Before your video and response, I think I'd be shoving A/9 also and then seeing it as a mistake if the solver said differently. But you pointed out that the EV is negligible which makes me think I'm focusing on the wrong thing

So there is probably a higher level strategy concept I'm missing towards approaching a table like this. Maybe the idea to be as aggressive as possible in a big stack position even if its giving up EV slightly. Then being studied enough to know approximately which hands are shoveable from each position to take advantage of the strategy without needing to be perfect

Hope this makes sense

Really enjoying this series and learned a lot so far. It's helping me uncover a lot of leaks I didn't even know I had. I'm a linear player and didn't realize there is any other way. Choosing select polarized ranges and the reasons for them adds a whole new dimension to my game. Thank you!

very helpful video. when working with GTO wizard drills you mentioned that you adjusted the settings to make the spots close. can you share those settings so we can practice them afterward?
