I started with GTO+ and recently decided to purchase Pio. GTO+ has a lot of things going for it, the price being the #1 thing. It also has scripting functionality built in for that low cost, which is a $225 upgrade for Pio. The integration with Flopzilla Pro is awesome and makes it easy to see which turn and river cards are good or bad for a particular range. However, I find the Pio interface easier to use when navigating the solution, specifically around visualizing the EV of the IP or OOP player.
Is that one feature worth $250? Maybe not to some. But I tried implementing some things Iain Salter talked about in a video on how to use Pio to study and got frustrated trying to do it in GTO+ so I pulled the trigger on Pio. I’m now able to study certain spots more quickly and effectively so I exchanged money for more study time in the long run.
At the end of the day, I am still probably going to use both because I really do enjoy the Flopzilla Pro integration that GTO+ has. Pio will probably be my default “let’s look at a spot” solver, though.

I’m curious to know why you’re checking range on that flop. To me, this is clear c-bet as you’ll want to find hands to bet as a semi-bluff so you’re not just betting with purely value hands. These hands could be KJ, J9s, AJ, AK.
You mentioned simplifying your strategy unless you have range advantage. You do have range advantage. This is a single raised pot and you opened UTG. Without any reads, I’m assuming villain is flatting UTG opens from the BTN with hands like suited connectors and low-mid pocket pairs.
As played, what hands are you repping? Do you play QQ or TT this way? QT?

Love the detailed explanations. Currently beating 50z and I’m realizing I’m missing a lot of analysis in my play. This is going to be helpful for when I try to move up.

He explained why he folded in the video. He thought the villain’s range in that spot mostly consisted of Ax.

Talk about first impressions...great video! I will be looking forward to watching the rest of your videos.

Don't bet 3x pot (effectively a shove). You may get called by worse but for that bet size you will often only get called by better hands. Play it like a normal hand: 2/3 pot size c-bet seems fine.

Darren, I recommend looking at everything as BBs rather than money (whether that’s USD or another currency). We often measure and talk about success in terms of win rates, which is measured in bb/100 so I think it makes sense to think about hands in the same way. Instead of calling 50c it’s x BBs.
