Quick review for AlienSlayer's Coaching

Context: I signed up for a seven lesson package and I am five lessons through. I have been a semi-professional plo player for 7 years. All I knew at the before signing up for the coaching package was that AlienSlayer had been around for years years playing is some pretty tough games.

Review: So far it has been great. My win-rate since starting the coaching a has been the highest it has been in a long time and my level of confidence at the tables has improved. We have simply been doing video reviews in an informal manner, but this simple coaching technique has (I think) helped me spot and plug some leaks that I was unaware of. Furthermore, I believe hearing his take on the hundreds of spots that I have trouble with, given his extensive playing experience, has been very valuable as well.

He is easy going, flexible with scheduling, and honest about what he knows and doesn't. Very much worth the cost in my case.

Just monker solutions that I bought and then placed in a little graphical display I coded up. It is similar to plo matrix, but I don't need to pay evil doug polk 50usd a month :)

Thanks for the video, enjoyed.

I would love to see a more in-depth analysis of the A764 hand at 26:55 on the top table. Can you bet this river large with overpairs?

You seemed a little unsure about a quite a few preflop spots so I looked up a few:
26:55 Top Table - A764ds open EP

36:51 Top Table - JJ83sss open BN (but you were 150bb deep with bb)

And then I thought you were flatting too wide in the SB throughout the video. Specifically with mediocre QQxx and JJxx type hands. Example 40:05 Top Table with QQ85ss. My guess is that this is a function of playing a lot of HU. But let me know if you or others disagree.

Cheers.

Love the format :)

So basically we can call vs a typical (AA heavy) 4bet range if one of the following is true:
- we have 3 connected cards that don't interact with A
- are deeper than around 1.75 spr on the flop
Is that about right? Position doesn't really matter much at all right?

I have been wondering about the theory in spots like this too (turns where one draw comes in, but you still rate to have the best hand and want some protection + value). I don't know. But maybe this is what we should be thinking about:
- How much value we are getting now. Is he calling with all Pair + FD hands ?
- Combo-wise what draw was more likely?
- How often are you going to want to bet the river for value? (here about 60% of the time, all cards except spades, 5 , 4)

I think your question should be: is defending this hand vs 2.5x 50bb deep profitable - meaning performing better than -100bb/100. I believe looking at a HU solver solution to will give you a better answer to this question than MDF.

My guess... and it is purely a guess... is that it is a fold. Pretty shit hand. If I get my hands on a HU solver solution I will come back and post what I find.

Oppp. I misread 'postflop' as preflop. Disregard this response.

My intuition said that I would like to 3b this combo and flat the double suited good combo. But my solver solution is 3betting both... it is right on the cusp though, so probably doesn't change much either way.

I agree with wowsick's post-flop thinking. Very simply you are almost never in great shape and often in poor shape vs KK and KdXd hands. I would not think twice and fold.
