Do we fold all our straights though?

You don't think we can bluffcatch with our straights with strong blockers? I feel like, but could be wrong, that if we fold all straights we significantly overfold.

Pre: This is a bit too loose imo. I would 3b or fold. As played, not only is one or both players likely to have a set which cuts down on your outs, you're not drawing to the nuts with your FD so you can be even less certain about your outs. I would fold.

As played pre though, how is my thought process?

- I am underrepped I guess
- This is one of my better straights as I have 9 blocker
- Q9/Q8/89 seems fairly unlikely as V potted flop in a very multiway flop

PLO newb here, considering that we block the nuts, backdoor equity, V could (maybe not, idk) be bluffing or just have AAxx, as well as 4 outs to the nuts, is the flop call super unlikely to be unprofitable? Am I missing something?

A) I'm very high in my range
B) He can easily have spades or QJ
C) I feel like it would be best to have 0 or 2 spades, as if you have 1 you block FD without having extra equity
D) Not having QJ unblocks bluffs
E) Backdoor FD
To beat me, he would have to have AxQJ ddxx or KxQJ ddxx that somehow didnt raise pre, AxJ8/KxJ8 ddxx or Ax86/Kx86 ddxx.
This seems like a super thin range so I called.

What bluff combos can I have?
Dec. 26, 2016 | 8:02 p.m.
I think fish will be strong with the bet multiway and barrel. I think whether you get called or not depends on how that fish interprets flush boards

I assuming that you think MP doesn't have a tight opening range so he won't squeeze often. Wondering what range would cold call like this with.

So if I was to create a strategy here on similar dry boards, Do you think I Should be value or bluff heavy? I feel like the problem is I dont know how I could be bluffing on this board except for if I take this line with 3 combos of QJs. I guess the best thing would be not get in this spot period? What do you think would be appropriate for a sb calling range vs this preflop action? Maybe I should only have a 3bet range? What situation would you have a sb calling range?

Weird spot because you should cbet small alot of your hands on that board, especially in this hand where you have only 9 high and backdoor flush and backdoor straight. When you cbet and get called, you fold out most of his air. He checks turn, you check back. Now if he bets river, he has Kx, 6x, missed flush draws and some floats like JT QJ. He probably checks Ax. In conclusion, if you had taken a more standard line, you could have narrowed his range enough to make an informed river decision.
When you check back flop, you have a few slowplays of 6x, maybe some of your worst Kx, A7, pocket pairs, and a ton of Ax. The 7 and the 2 do nothing for your usual flop check back range so he bluff double barrel wide if he thinks youll fold your pocket pairs to a river shove.
Thats what i figured. The blocker is the deciding factor right?
