@Danny356 - Haha! Spot on. I used to think that about limping when i first started out playing PLO.

I shall reread the big play strategy book by Hwang . I think he had one or two more books. That worth a read too or is mastering the big play strategy fundamentals more than good enough??

@themightjim - I get what you mean but won't alot of their discussion be based on certain presumptions about things the users already shud know.. like underlying theories of a certain situation type which i am supposed to know. i dunno. I was hoping to start with absolute basic stuff which i might even completely know right now and then work my way up . Really want to feel like doing this the hard and proper step by step way.

Also, there are a bunch of fishy under the radar type online websites in my country where the plo games are crazy so i start to play online aswell. probably gonna try to beat the .5/$1 plo games online first before deving into those higher stakes.

Post | regzilla posted in PLO: Road map to more PLO EV

Hi

I have been playing holdem a while now and have recently (kinda) turned pro and doing well beating the live nlhe games consistently. However, with plo slowly retiring NLHE as the numero uno game here, i want to be ahead of the rest of the pack.

I was wondering if some one here could help me make a roadmap of things i need to do to start crushing the juicy live games here.
So far i have read Jeff Hwangs book on big play strategy.

Have broken even in about 8 live PLO sessions playing $5/$10 deepstack and felt fuzzy in a bunch of spots not knowing what the best lines are and mainly i feel i'm missing a lot of VAL , hero calling too much and a few other leaks that i know of( not counting the countless ones i don't know of yet!)

There is alot of content here on RIO and i feel like i want to get through all of it but i want to have the right approach. I have the elite membership so i guess all the content is open to me.

Can one of you advise which trainers videos i should start off with and then slowly move up in terms of how basic videos are and what level they target and also in terms of concepts which need watching first.

Don't want to start off with SH plo nosebleed stakes videos from Phil because thats just gonna go way over my head .

Thanks a ton!

Basically, PLO entails a lot more gambling than holdem so people are willing to put it in pre flop with a bunch more hands against a short stacker, so I guess the best approach would be to just stick to the absolute premium portion of your range (ds KK+ ) as you will probably always be getting the right odds SPR wise to get it in on most flops in 3-bet pots against much weaker ranges.
