philomilo

Playing on a new site for Asian players and found myself HU in my first MTT, a $2.50 rebuy with $270 up top. Let's just say that the standard is not that great. Thank you Pokerstars for pulling out of Malaysia so I can play on different sites now.

Thanks Lljag. It's just the jump in payouts that makes me rethink this. 8h paid $38 whereas 1st paid over $300. Felt I could hold my own against the rest of the table, just this maniac two to my left making my life difficult.

Hi MTTers, just joined RIO yesterday and looking forward to receiving some advice from the better players here. I'm a recreational player but have had some success playing MTTs. Best score was winning the $4.40 Super Prog KO on Stars last year beating out over 4000 players for first prize of over 2.5k. However I live in Malaysia so now Stars have pulled out I'm forced to play on 888, which isn't too bad on the PC but the app is terrible. I work full-time as a teacher of Mathematics and have a three month old baby so volume is low.
Last night played The Blowfish which is $5 slow MTT, 350+ runners.. Made the FT but by this time was way past my bedtime and was getting tired.
I am 7th or 8th of 8 and get 1010 on button with 20bb. Average stack is prob 35-40bb.Folds to me so I raise just over 2x. BB who has been playing crazy (open shoving all the time with 40bb stack) shoves on me. Is this a snap call or do ICM consideration mean I wait for a better spot? Do I really want to get 20BB in with 1010 which is not quite a premium. (Sorry for not posting actual HH but haven't figured that out yet). Of course since I a tired I snap call and he wins with K8. GG.
I think you are probably ahead of his range given he checked flop and is now leading out on the turn. Depends if you are sure he would lead the flop with a J or play it tricky. That is not to say you shove here. Any sizing tells being as he bet pot?
