Why don't you raise full pot?
Anyway i don't think you should leave here. You admit that he might have a hand as bad as bare gs otf, so he might have any other draw or single pair ott for sure. It's unfortunate that you are holding extra spade and two aces that are blocking some of his possible draw hands, but still there are many worse hands in his range he's getting in with.

Hi Phil.
9min, table 2 with bottom 2 pairs in limp-raised pot. What were you going to do against cbet on the flop? This is not bad board for barreling on wide range, but with your hand you couldn't raise on either street i assume (well, maybe 4c, 6c or 7c cards were good for check-raising turn).
Also, would you make it different in 100bb stacks? Playing oop with bottom2 with barely no redraws.
Thanks.

Why don't you consider x-raising turn?
Both x-calling and betting may lead to weird spots otr as you don't get your stacks in. If you do check and both villians do after, SPR wont be that awkward and i am sure most of decisions would be ordinary.

This is standart open on BN, sometimes on CO. But as standart is fold to 3bet. With double-suit or no dangler in hand you should call though.

b-f doesn't seem to be ridic for me. As his shoving range includes many 8s, J+fd, overpairs with fd. Generaly you are dominated by that range.
x-shove might also be an option against a player that bets alot against checks. But he has to fold frequently too.

I cannot figure out what is the purpose of turn shove with staight on paired board? I would probably just cbet flop and fire another bet ott on hit. Folding to any raise ofc.
As played probably x-calling turn once again is the play. But i have no idea where it leads.

I've had 20 hands on him with big agression. With that low sample i cannot affrim anything but only assume.
Why are you emphesizing turn play? Checking aint a mistake by the reasons i mentioned. I wonder river play.

BB was shallow in this spot and i was going to call his shove.
I decided to bet turn considering that BN folds frequently. He had the last word otf and would probably stab against checks with his pairs and wraps. Hence this 9 aint help him that often. Meanwhile BB seems to be weak player with pretty wide range otf to check and to shove ott.

So that were my thoughts, want you to evaluate them.

I expect most of the players to play it slow with either range. Saying most i mean weak players because regs are overwhelmingly raising with vulnerable sevens, QQdd+, 456dd.
Turn. People are generally scared to make semi-bluff floats at this kind of boards with low SPR. That's why i considered that check may give me more information about his hand: he definitely bets with sevens and [probably] shyly checks with his draw hands. And i have no idea what he gonna do with offsuit overpair here btw, maybe he bets the one (that's disadvantage of x-f). In a word: bet means seven, check-back means easy river decision.
Anyway if i do bet it makes further play so awkward.
a. If he calls turn, what would i expect betting into blank river? He either folds missed draws or happily calls with his slowplayed boat. A draw-completing river means i gotta fold.
b. If he raises turn, i am likely to be crashed. I hardly believe he does that on semi-bluff, why would he do that? If he wanted to, he would just raised flop. The bottom of his raising range would be overpair with hearts and/or smth like Th9h*d*d. Still he may just flat with that range.
In summary i wanna say that turn bet leads to big potential loses. Getting called means i lose more money or win no more. Getting raised means i lose money most of the times. I can make him fold betting - that true. But that means that I can just bet with air to have the same result. Would i bet here with air? don't think so.

I prefer folding pre vs 3bet. With hand like KQJ4ds I call bcos it has high cards and better connectivity.
Shoving otf is the best option i guess. I have no idea wtf to do ott with your sucker draws. You might be already dead or close to. I think you'd better off calling and folding blank rivers. Since you barely have ShD equity you can do that as you know which rivers you do get money in and which you dont.
July 4, 2013 | 4:27 a.m.
This is open-fold and against 3bet fold as well. As played once you decided to bet turn, you had to bet otr into blank card reping JT. Sizing is fine.
I would probably also bet into hearts or boat otr. I believe that he has AA+(spades/weak draw) or some spade draw with a pair ott most of the times. And this kind of range gotta fold on the rivers i mentioned

That's reliable play for KK, KJ, even for some high flush hand like (AT)93 or (Q9)T6.
I see that i dont have any strong pair or set within my range, and that's disadvantage of checking line.
Would you rather cbet here?

June 21, 2013 | 3:12 p.m.
Depending on BN agression i x-shove or keep betting turn. Though betting is best most of the times.
If you get checked to then just bet-shove turn. You have to get value againts countless draws and worse 2pair hands.
Once you get donk-potted i would recommend to fold against unknown. Unless stated he's a very agressive player, give him a credit for nuts.
