Also should cbet have been 75% or is small ok? Think if it was 2 tone I would have gone 75

Ok thanks for the replies. Only reason I ask is because im seeing this more and more (especially NL5) and a lot of the time they have underpairs.
So in this instance villain had 88, and Ive seen it with 33 in a 3bet pot on Axx where I faced a c/r and called flop and turn with AQ.
Is it simply a case of making a note on that particular villain?
Like I said, it happens quite a lot where they don't rep anything and I call down light

Firstly when villain raises flop what is he repping? Not sure we should have a raising range here. Obviously with my exact hand its a call, as is turn but is this is a fold if he jams river? I dont want to show his hand just yet but I will do later on, but is this still a call with say JJ on flop and turn?

I raised turn as board is quite wet and his bet looked weak. Was I correct in raising? Hate being this deep in spots like this!!!
Couldnt decide what the best play on river was. He cant have too many flushes and I think AA bets bigger on the turn, but he can have QQ AK.
Thoughts?

You think this counts as a cooler? Hopefully the downswing is behind me!!
May 24, 2021 | 7:44 p.m.
What motivates you to carry on playing? Dont think Id be able to handle that at all
May 24, 2021 | 7:39 p.m.
I did evaluate and a lot of it was what you said (coolers and bluff catchers where they had it every single time (Having AK in 3bet pots on A23-9-4 run outs where they called with 55 the whole way etc).
I also agree with what you say about sessions where we win but played bad, I always go through my hands and hate some of the plays I make when getting lucky and winning. They sometimes bother me more than when I play well and lose.
May 24, 2021 | 7:39 p.m.
I did that and although some (not a lot) was spew, most of it was coolers and a lot of them in 3bet pots. Had set over twice 4 times, bluff catching rivers where they hit the miracle card etc.
May 24, 2021 | 7:35 p.m.
Yeah I thought I was over the whole not being able to deal with coolers / bad beats but obviously not. Stayed up until 5am this morning trying to claw it back (was break even at 2am which is annoying!!!).
Going to have a few days off and drop down a limit I think.
May 23, 2021 | 1:32 p.m.
Hi guys,
How do you deal with downswings? Im currently on a 25bi downswing and not as strong mentally as I thought I was. Was winning at 12bb/100 over 300k hands previously but now feel like I can never book a winning session. Have had days before where I was 10 BI down and got most of it back same day, but this is now going on for 4 days.
Took the drastic action of withdrawing all of it last night with the intention of quitting (I have a young family and poker has sort of taken over my life, spending any spare time playing).
Dont want to quit as I enjoy it so much, but feel like absolute shit today.

Villain is 30/21 over 61 hands, no notes or reads.
On the flop I decided to flat to keep the button in, with the intention of maybe c/r turn but when villain bets pots and being 200bb deep I decided to flat. Is bottom set ever a c/r on any street when villain can have KK/JJ.......what about 100bb deep?
May 17, 2021 | 2:40 p.m.
Dont feel bad about dropping 14BI, I dropped 10 today alone!! I wouldve tilted massively a few months ago but kept my head, kept playing my normal game and got most of it back.
I would drop to NL2/NL5, keep watching the videos (Peter and Henry Lister are really good to watch) and dont be scared to try new things. Post hands on here and ask as many questions as you need to, Ive learned so much from the guys that post on here.

Do you not take into consideration that this villain has only folded to 6/23 3bets?

May 4, 2021 | 12:04 a.m.
I bet the turn as there are 2 flush draws and we unblock both, and if he has called with SC there are also straight draws there. My plan was to bet turn and check back river

When he c/c flop I discount any sets, and have his range as 66,77,88,99,TT, JJ some AJ, KQ,AQ,QT some suited connectors). I think his turn c/r is on the small side and would expect a turned set to mostly bet bigger or jam.
My question is with the board being this wet is this still always just a flat on the turn as any heart, spade 3,8 would be pretty bad.

First question....On this flop I have seen similar spots where coaches c/r this type of flop, but what do we rep here other than FD? I never feel comfortable raising FD especially when I dont have range or nut advantage.
Turn I went for that sizing as its a size id probably use when bluffing too, thoughts? Is the flat to the raise ok should we be getting it in?
River I think c/c is probably better but thought it might get checked back a lot. Am I right in thinking the Ad was probably the best card I could hope for?
Villain is 31/31/33 over 13 hands, note tracker has note saying played turn draw aggressively.

I have a question....Should I be worried about balancing at micro stakes? I ask because if I had AhJc, I would barrel turn most of the time but like to check sometimes as played above.
Same goes when I flop a set on dry board as PFR OOP. I will cbet flop but check dry turns. Would you always barrel at micros or would it be villain dependant? Getting stuck in between trying to be somewhat balanced for when (if) I move up stakes whilst also trying to exploit as much as possible.
Also with regards to the hand above, I wouldnt normall cbet this flop 100% but as we are deeper and having a blocker to the nuts, I figured I could bet/call flop......logical or not?
April 21, 2021 | 8:46 p.m.
So decided to start off at NL2 this morning, played well and went for a couple of hours at NL5 this evening.
Ran really well, just as many fish / bad regs so all good.
Thanks for your help with the hand histories and watching me play, my game has really come on lately and feel a lot more confident. Im sure variance will kick in soon but I feel better equipped to deal with it, and may even be more aggressive with moving to NL10 if things go well.
Thanks again guys

Why would you check this flop? We have 2 of the 3 sets and I think if he had QQ he would 4bet. We also have QTs sometimes
