Dear RIO members,
When I join 6-max regular cash tables the table appears two players top and bottom and one player left and right. But when I play Zoom the table setting is two players left and right and one player top and bottom.
Is there anyway I can make it so zoom and regular cash 6-max table to appear the same way?
Thanks.

Hello,
I was wondering if anyone can briefly explain to me the difference between these software:
flopzilla
CREV
PioSolver
SimplePostFlop
Also any recommendation or using experience sharing would be greatly appreciated.
Thank You.

Hello,
I recall reading somewhere that there is a table scanning software made specifically for high stake games. Anyone know what it's called? It's not table scanner from HM2, it's much faster ect...
Thanks.

Hey guys,
Here's another amateur question so would really appreciate it if anyone can take the time to answer it.
I am asking this because I am having difficulty running HM2 smoothly and it seems to be crashing quite often due to lack of disk space I have left.
I know if I delete the processed hands in HMARCHIVE folder I could create more space and retain the statistics.
Can anyone tell me where exactly does HM2 imported information go?
From my own research I believe it goes to PostgreSQL. (Although I'm not really quite sure if that's like a cloud virtual space like DROPBOX or it's a program installed to my computer therefore all the stats takes up space in my computer.)
Also how would I be able to "clean" my stored HM2 data in PostgresSQL if I want to make sure it runs smoothly? I've heard people buying an external SSD but I have no clue how to set that up, do I just install PostgresSQL in that SSD?
I know my questions are all over the place so if you can help me I will greatly appreciate it.
Just a beginner trying to make sure the basic HUD issue is resolved so I can spend my times on more productive things like learning how to win from watching videos on RIO =)
THANK YOU!

Hello,
This is sort of a newbie question but I was wondering if I send my HHs to a friend, can he just import it and receive all the statistics that I have gathered and shows in his HUD?
Thanks.

so then when we are calculating whether its a +ev call on the flop, do we consider it to be 4.2:1 on a flush draw or 2:1?

Hey guys, sry if this question is really amateur but I've been confused by this for a while.
I've been reading about pot odds and has been confused about different between using hand odds and hand equity.
Ex: (hero) 4h7h
Flop: AhJcTh disregarding what opponent and lets just assume making a flush gives us the winning hand.
From my research it explains calculating odds in two different ways
1.) Hand odd.
You have 2 hearts. Two more hearts fall on the flop. There are now 47 unseen cards. You have 9 outs (9 out of 13 unseen hearts remaining in the deck) to make your flush on the next card.
Divide 47 by 9 = 5.2
Subtract 1 = 4.2
There must be at least 4.2 bets in the pot for you to call a single bet.
2.) the multiply by 4 and 2 rules to calculate hand equity.
You have two hearts. Two more hearts fall on the flop, so you have 9 outs.
9 x 4 = 36, giving you 36% chance to hit your flush and your opponent a 64% chance to hold up and win with a pair.
64/36 is a little less than 2 to 1. Therefore, it would make sense to call bets slightly higher than half the pot size.
I understand the concept of both and should be both right? but what I'm confused about is why hand odd method req. us to have 4.2:1 to call on flop while hand equity only requires us to have 2:1 to call.
thanks.

What do you call the instant hand image that pops up after the hand is finished and where can I adjust this setting in HM2? I notice that the hands popup locations are all over the place and not where they should be.
Thanks for the help.

Hello,
I know that it stands for Stack Pot Ratio as I've seen it mentioned a few times in multiple videos. But it was never really explained in depth by the pros. I was wondering if anyone can direct me to an article or video or can explain to me how this ratio affects our play//decision//ect...
Thank you.

We are in the same boat, I too am succeeding at lower level and handicapped by my own weak mentality and overly strict bankroll management rules. It's funny because I see you around and our BR is similar. But I've recently decided to move up to plo25 and planning on moving up as I reach my preset BR rules like Phil suggested and fixing my poker mentality on the way. GL and see you at the tables!

Thanks.

Update for January.
Accomplished few short term goals including achieving Platinum Star and moving up to 25$ plo zoom.
So After my previous post, I put in another 10k or so hands in the plo10 zoom and the results were not great, for so reason I felt that it was because the opponents were thinking at a lower level than the videos I've been watching on RIO and therefore my play against them were not optimal//effective. So I did something that's against my bankroll management rule and decided to move up to PLO25 zoom and just play two tables. As you can see, the results has been decent so far but the sample size is far from enough to justify the winrate.
Now onto the goals I didn't achieve, I was NOT able to grind 4000 hands/day after having consecutive bad days in Plo10 zoom so I move onto the PLO25 zoom playing just two tables. The results were great but 2 tabling I was only able to get in about 1500-2500 hands per day. So hopefully this month I can stay a winner at this level and able to increase my table to 3 and then 4 hopefully.
Looking forward to collectiving more from RB this month and hopefully I can have a great month which allows me to move up to plo50 zoom.

I'm wondering if anyone went through with it and go the 100$ free credit. Does signing up through HM2 affect our rakeback on 888 in the future? Is there any catch to this deal?
Thanks

Just my opinion but I don't see a fold here ever. Worst case scenario you're up against some weirdly played 66 or 77 which you still have decent amts of outs with your flush and A. Usually up against some wrap draws and or just nut flush draw with nothing else. Against the wrap str8 draws he won't have any flush draw higher than ours assuming he called with strong DS mid rundowns like 89TJ. Overall I think we have good equity against the avg range of hands villain can have.

Hey guys
I'm a low stake plo grinder and one thing(strategy?) I've been doing is leaving the plo zoom table when I reach 300bb and then reopen with just 100bb again so I can play optimally and not worry about getting exploited when up against other big stack. My question is, do you guys think that I'm missing out on a lot of potential +ev spots where I can win a 600bb pot or do you guys think its not that big of a deal? Because I use to be a tournament player and I know that having big stack (i.e. in a rebuy tournament, always rebuy) +ev but is it the same in cash game?
Thanks

A quick update after about 25k hands of PLO 10 zoom. I guess the first thing I noticed is that there are significantly fewer fishes at this level compare to the PLO 5, I guess most semi serious micro stake reg that are transitioning from other format to PLO often starts at this level. ( myself included ) Also I notice a lot of spots where I've been quite spewey and are making too many mistakes for me to be moving onto PLO 25 zoom so I will probably stay at this level for another 25k hands and see how it goes before I decide to move up to PLO 25 zoom. I guess I can't really complain running 100$ above ev =)
As far as the achieving the other short term goals go. I've been 4000+ hands per day and am on pace for platinum star for the month so am looking forward to more rakeback next month once I achieve that.

thanks all for the suggestions, I realized it was a mistake obviously right after I made the click. Guess I'm glad I made this mistake now rather then later when I'm grinding the plo 200, cus you know, thats where I'm heading!

thanks man, yeah it does seem beatable even with my skill level but I can feel the difference between the 5 and the 10 for sure. Def trying to plug my leaks at these lower levels before moving onto the plo 25//50.

Sup Ryan,
I'm a fellow Taiwanese Grinder like yourself starting at very micro limits, I believe you are a friend of Ang? Anyways, will be keeping an eye on your journal, gl!
Jan. 13, 2015 | 4:15 p.m.
I don't see anything wrong with going all in with the nuts on the turn even though you could be up against a hand that freeroll you. Though I may have check/raised the flop myself since I believe it's a more plus ev move then check//call in this spot.
Jan. 13, 2015 | 9:56 a.m.
If the villain is a super aggro fish then yeah I think checking would be more plus ev since sometimes we can get that extra bet out of him when he makes some weird hand that he believes to have some betting value like hitting some weird full house on the river. We almost never really worry or care about JKhh here because if he does have it you are paying him regardless, it's just one of those times when it's so rare and impossible to dodge. So like you said I think checking and hoping he makes a river bet would be more +ev.
Jan. 13, 2015 | 9:53 a.m.
without having a lot of stats//read on the villain I guess a folding would be the min variance option. With that said, I think there are plenty of random fish in this level who will be committing to a preflop 3-bet raised pot with just a non nut flush draw, open ender, and weird gutshot.
Jan. 13, 2015 | 9:47 a.m.
Just a random thought though, if someone like Galfond or some of the top limit plo pros from RIO were to drop wayyy down to the plo100 zoom or plo200 zoom level, wouldn't they be able to beat the norm? Maybe the record that he has are just people who are likely avgs regs who are breakeven and just remain at these stakes and grinds a whole bunch.
so you're saying it's not right call for 9 outer on the flop if villain bets 50% of pot on the flop which will give us 3:1 odds ( disregarding turn bet//implied odds//ect)))
