Total novice here at split pot games. I understand we want to be playing for scoops, but still don't quite understand the fold at 53:47. You say the 7 is a bad card, but you still figure to have a much smoother 7 draw to a low while while any ace or jack could easily win for high with two cards to come.

I tend to play tight when the bets double, but think I would've taken one more off here. How big of a mistake is that exactly? My concern (for me) is that you didn't even seem to consider this close. Also, you say you'd have been more inclined to continue if he paired his 2 door card, which while I understand you have more outs to a bigger pair, it's also more likely he made trips with the 2, no? Can you explain this general concept to a novice?
