Just reread all of this.
Limplimpson - like the thinking behind turn being XF, given that he will continue too much and generally we will miss our draw and therefore lose money long term.
However, you said v good regs we could xr turn hoping to fold out Qx by jamming river. Don't you think reg would call Q trips to a jam there? Realise you are trying to rep a boat here but still think trip Qs is going to be tricky to fold and bit of a risky play? Especially given villain would have top trips as well.
Also interesting comment from Mason Barrell, good point re us not blocking spades, but not sure he should/would fold Axss here?

Yeah guess you are right 18bbs is a lot and see what you mean re shove being better here, at least he will fold out better if I do it that way.

Happy with my play up to river and would normally just give up as didn't hit my straight. However with Ace falling on river it now gives me the opportunity to rep AQ, AA, hands like AsKs or AsJs, As10s so feel that river bluff is ok here.
Villain was a bit of an aggro fish so prob not the best villain to do this against but still hoping that he will fold a lot of hands like 10s,9s, etc.. plus any missed FDs and poss any missed SDs. But obviously he isn't folding any Qx hands which he could well have here.
What do you think?
Cheers

Villain was a 45/34 fish over 400 hands, bit stationy as you would expect.
I went for 3/4 cbet on flop and turn to get as much value as poss from worse hands and draws. However, I think my river bet was bad as thinking about it a lot of the hands he calls me with on the turn have me beat especially when 9 drops on the river. A9 got there, plus other random 9x hands he called pre with. He could also have 2 pair hands as he is really wide pre. Don't think he has many overpairs here that I beat. So I think I should have checked river, and maybe check called to a smallish bet and check folded to a larger one?
Obviously when he jams I am priced in to call.
What do you think?
Thanks

Think my preflop play is fine. Player 1 is fish but has a 67% fold to cbet stat (didn't have enough hands for much of a picture of his 3bet play) Only 100 hands, but he was 50/29. Player 7 is a 24/16 over 5k hands.
I potted on flop. Didn't want to give anyone a good price on their FDs plus didn't want too many players in the pot. Not sure if this was good.
Then was priced in to call when fish jammed and player 7 followed suit.

Not sure whether I should raise turn here or not.
Villain was 22/15 over 10k+ hands, had a 3bet stat of 9% in SB v BTN. He played pretty agg pre, post and on turn in this hand so put him on QQ,KK or AA, or obv could have flush on turn or FD. Don't think he would play broadways like KQ etc.. this way, without hearts in. So generally I put him on a hand or drawing to a flush. My jam on turn gets him to fold QQ+, which is good plus I have equity if he calls, but it also gets him to fold FDs which I beat should a heart hit on river. So not sure what's best really.
thanks
Thanks for responding and clearing that up. And got you re it not being a reason for us to play like that.
Nice one!
