So you want me to continue only if I flop a set? That seems very bad. I don't have the implied odds when I hit my set to call preflop, and I'm not going to fold this to a minraise pre.
You know how much hands is in a 60% hand range? and assuming he cbets around 60% of the time.. he's going to have a ton of nothing.
Nov. 29, 2014 | 4:30 p.m.
true, I don't have to shove, $20 is good
Nov. 29, 2014 | 4:18 p.m.
What do you balance it with?
Nov. 29, 2014 | 4:17 p.m.
Huh? Folding flop seems terrible. if we assume he opens OTB 60%, and pot controls all 4's, and most 8's like most people, then folding flop is the worst option and he would be making instant $$$$$ cbetting 100% of the time if I don't call with a hand like this - I'm not calling to setmine.
33 is the same as a 4 on the flop
Nov. 29, 2014 | 4:14 p.m.
Vs reg, he's got 38.67 left. Would a shove be too lite? I mean.. if I shove, I think I could have hands turned into a bluff here, but I never have Q9, so I'm not sure if I do have bluffs when I shove here. but this is BvB, and his range is very big

I use it all the time for NLHE.. I'm wondering if any of you know of a similar program for PLO.
Nov. 19, 2014 | 8:33 a.m.
I recently started playing plo.
I'm playing 25nl, and I see some regs getting it in / 4bet/call shove with KKxx. Is this standard play?
I've been looking at allin hand equity, and it seems like it would be more profitable to get it in with hands like 78s79s, 43s54s rather than KKxx, since KKxx gets crushed by AAxx.
So if you raise BTN, get 3bet by blinds, what's the best play with kings? I can see myself flatting with a hand like KTssK8, but I'm uncertain what to do with a KK hand that doesn't connect (KK82).
Nov. 19, 2014 | 8:17 a.m.
Any recommendations? I'm completely new to plo, so i'd like to see a video that focuses on preflop, and simple flop play. I have an elite membership.
Nov. 17, 2014 | 8:29 a.m.
vs a reg. How do you figure out when it's best to call here, or raise?
Which boards / under which circumstance would you be flatting a FD in a 3bet pot?

Villain is a winning reg, he likes to incorporate a fair amount of flop c/r in his play.
I feel like reraising flop is bad, because he can adjust too easily. I'm not sure about shoving or folding turn? I feel like the call I made was bad, letting him play perfectly against me.
I'm not sure if J9s, T8s is in his range, I've seen him make some loose calls preflop.

Before watching your video, I created thread here about this very same topic. I was wondering if you can give me your input on my strategy?
http://www.runitonce.com/nlhe/help-me-create-a-3bet-defending-range-bv/
Also, won't your 3bet calling strategy get countered hard when people see you calling with AJs-A2s? If they have AK-AJ alone in their 3betting range, that's 48 combos that will dominate those hands. I find that it's difficult to play A6s-A2s, because flopping a small pair will often be useless - I would rather add some of the low Axs to a shoving range (when I find that I'm often being 3betted alot by the same villain)
Nov. 11, 2014 | 2:15 a.m.
At around 28:38 you mention that we need to defend against 3bets ~33%
So 33% of our opening range of 52%, equals 17.16%. Why do you have a 4bet range of 13%, and a calling range of 19%?
and shortly after you mention that good regs defend 50% of the time, so 50% of 52% is a 26% defending range.
I'm not very good at math, and my logic is probably flawed here. Would appreciate it if you can clear things up for me.

He's a pretty nitty reg 15/10, tho I have him marked as a bad / below average reg (I forgot to note why.)
This c/r is retarded on such a dry board. but i'm at the top of my range bvb..

I should have definitely put this in my c/c range, along with JT, KJ hands. I was afraid of showing weakness, but I guess I shouldn't be concerned about that if i'm balanced.
When you say "if he stabs when checked to OTR I would check/call" Is that as played? or if I would have c/c the flop?

Oct. 17, 2014 | 7:24 a.m.
I'm very self critical of my play, I stress myself out so much when playing bad, to the point where everything eles in my life suffers because of it. I'm good at realizing my mistakes, nearly every session I play I make crucial mistakes. Even though I'm a winner at this game, I'm rarely ever happy with my play.
How do you deal with playing a bad session? Do you try to put it behind you, and move on? or do your thoughts linger on it through out the day.
Poker is stressful enough as it is, I feel like i'm just adding unnecessary stress - but I also feel that if I'm not hard on myself, I may fall behind..
Thoughts?

Well, results don't matter because I didn't call. I really regret not calling, because once I call turn, it makes little sense not to call river vs a reg who barrels alot.
I actually think he barrels all of his hands here. The guy likes to use his nitty image to his advantage.
