What i'm wondering is should I even c-bet when the flop is bad for me if they are non-observant stations who love to call.

Also, I will probably open 3x UTG i get 4x callers or I raise 7x after 4 limps on BTN and get 5 calls.

Yes for real, because the players are all the bad donk/station types and its a $240 buy in but majority of players will have 'earned' a ticket through a 'donkament' at a pub where final table everyone has <10BB...so they give $30,000T to players in those games which is anywhere from free to $35 to play hence their logic is to give everyone massive stacks, but there is legitimate cash up for grabs and I need to work out the best way to tackle it.

On Feb 27th and 28th there is a 2 day poker tourney that you can qualify for or buy-in for $240 provided you have met the entry requirements. It is actually a big event just for the state that I live in (Aus) which is ran by 888 but a live game just like the 'pub/bar poker games' that they run on a weekly basis.

Obviously this is a way bigger event than their little $0-35 weekly games where the old people/degenerates/donkeys/im better than you players come play and try and win/have fun.

I am unsure what would be the best way to play a tourney like this, given a large part of the field playing it will mostly end up being level 0,1 and sometimes level 2 players. It'll be full of limping everywhere and someone may 3-4bet and may still get half the table calling.

I don't know the levels yet but probably will start at 50/100 I guess
100,000 stack stack
30min levels
$40,000 prize pool with $15,000 for 1st ($240 entry no rake)

Any advice?

Post | iv_Fantasy posted in NLHE: What to do in this spot

This is my first hand history so if I stuff it up, bear with me!

Live turbo tournament, just moved to new table, don't know anything about other players involved in the hand

Blinds are 10,000/5,000 Average stack is ~63,000
UTG+1 Limps (120,000)
BTN Limps (80,000)
Hero Checks (BB) K,7o (65,000)

3 to the Flop

2c 4c 7c

I shove my TPGK holding no clubs.

How should this position play?

1.) I'm thinking given the limps I may have some FE by shoving PF?
2.) Is having TPGK worthless on a suited board when you flop Top Pair?

*Couldn't work out how to put it as a hand history so made it a topic instead

Pub Poker: Poker Tournaments help at local pubs/bars/taverns where the buy-in ranges from $0-30 for the regular weekly games.

20/30K Start stack at 25/50 blinds or 50/100 blinds...blind levels increase every 12-15minutes.

This is how I got into poker and did quite well when I started (2011) and won some games and a state championship which led to me being able to play the main event for the pub poker leage (APL/888pl) which was a $1,200 entry (won the ticket)...didn't cash, and played a handful more games after that and then stopped playing till Nov 2015.

Is there any point playing these pub games at all given that you only verse level 0-1 players and sometimes level 2? Aside from their big events of course because they are structured good.

Thanks

Thanks, I can't seem to find anything on the internet about this which is hilarious IMO.

Post | iv_Fantasy posted in Chatter: Computer Requirements

Hi RIO members,

No point explaining a history so I'll just ask, what sort of specifications do i need from a computer in order to play on PS's 888 etc and run a HUD and all that, obviously you won't need anything near what you would need for playing games and stuff, I just will be purchasing this device strictly for online poker and web browsing so I want to spend the lowest I can.

Thanks

Comment | iv_Fantasy commented on fold top range?

He 3bet you with what, like TT+ and AQ+, assuming a tight player.

So out of 7 possible hands at the river you lose to 4 and beat 3, can include down to 77+ perhaps since it's 6max? In which case you can beat an additional 3 hands.

I don't mind calling flop as a ATs would be possible MAYBE, but re-raising the turn would give you a better idea of where you were and can fold to a shove there or hopefully see the river for free.
