Just out of interest.  How do you feel about this if it's 5 card. Let's assume your additional card is a raggy diamond.

In my experience of live PLO and in the last couple of years the 4,5,6 card dealer's choice people play very loose pre-flop and any half decent draws post-flop.  The key here is that when you're multi-way this often, there will be many situations where you flop/turn the nuts only to run into the same nuts.  It is crucial here that you have redraws often and Hwang's book emphasises selecting starting hands which can result in nuts with redraws.

You refer to the possibility of players playing very weakly pre-flop.  The easiest spots to pick up money from players is because they:

 - Stack off with under-full

- Stack off with middle/bottom set

- Stack off with flop nuts no redraws

- Call low-end straights/wraps

- Call low flushes

To make the most out of these players then nitting it up (or playing good multi-way hands) pre-flop achieves you being on the right end of all of the above situations.

In some situations, such as at big hold-em tournaments you might find that there are players on the low-stakes PLO who are much worse than this e.g. Stacking off with flush/straight on paired board or even just an overpair.  Or stacking off with under trips and no over cards (3456 on 339 board). Even stacking off because they don't know the rules (1 card flushes/straights etc) In these situations you can adjust accordingly and it's true that it can become profitable to play any cards in position on the villain provided you are able to escape being on the worst end of the list above against opponents other than the villain.
