Hey Guys,
I am not familiar with the cash game strat forums on here but the MTT threads are seriously lacking in input by the RIO pros.
Seems pretty dead right now and a major factor for this is its probably down to players talking strat within private groups etc..
Most RIO pros are very good at answering questions/interacting with subscribers in there video threads which is fantastic.
2+2 MTT High forums seem to have a lot more traffic with no pro coaches. No doubt if more of your pros helped out by commenting the forums will come alive again.

Day 1 of EPT BARCELONA.
Due to the huge volume of runners I was on an alternate list for seating. When I got seated on alternate table we were @level BB100.
As the alternate tables were filling up we were 7 handed when the following hand took place.
Hero: Unknown to the table
Villain: Only reads :Middle aged Russian?? man(His friend came over and they had a chat and a laugh in Russian a few hands prior to this)
SB (300bb)
BB (300bb)
UTG (300bb)
MP (300bb)
HJ [HERO] (10c 10s) (300bb)
CO [Villain] (340bb)
BN (260bb)
Preflop:
Folds to HJ. Hero raises to 275. CO 3bets to 700, Folds to Hero, Hero calls.
Flop: [Qc 10h 5s] (1,550)
HERO : Checks
CO bets 750. HERO calls.
.
Turn: [Qc 10h 5s 7h] (3,150)
HERO : Checks
CO bets 2,225. HERO raises to 6,175, CO calls.
River: [Qc 10h 5s 7h 4c] (15,500)
HERO: Bets 8,400, CO raises All in
Preflop seems pretty standard here at this depth.
Thoughts on line & sizing street by street please guys.
My thoughts:
Flop: My continuing range will consist of KJsbdfd,AKsbdfd,KQs,AQ,Q10,55,1010,QQ. I will have a mixed strategy of check raise/check call on the flop here..the texture allows for me to flat more.
Turn: On the 7H turn which brings the flush draw. Villain bets 70% pot. At this point i am happy to assign villain a range of AKhh,KJhh,AQ,KK,AA,55,QQ. With the 7H turn i can check raise somewhat balanced as my range will primarily consist of 55,1010,KJhh,AKhh I will have also have Q10/QQ here on turn some but i will CR these combos more often on the flop
River: 4C
On the river i decided to bet rather than check call for a couple of reasons.
Due to the ratio of air combos:value combos in Villains range. Villain's air on river will consist of AJhh/AKhh/KJhh (3combos). When i check river all of these combos will bet. For value Villain has AQ/KK/AA/55/QQ (30 combos) of these 30 combos i can see villain check back 24 of these combos a large % of the time when checked to. I decided not to give villain the chance to check back and bet a little over half pot with the aim to get called by AQ,KK,AA,55.
Villains Jam:
I need to put in 14k to win 60k. Due to it being EPT BARCA Day1 level 2 Villain is so nutted here to the 3 combos of QQ however i just need him to have 1combo of a bluff too make this a tiny bit better than break even +ev call.
I have given him KJhh,AJhh,AKhh on the river all of which i am sure will bluff when checked to on river but as played given the circumstances (EPT BARCA 2nd level) i don't know if villain will go all in on the river with a bluff.
Thanks in advance guys

@TheWizz- MrSneeze says WITHOUT READS check folding river is fine. If Villain starts to show a high PFR/AGFactor etc we can adjust to call down wider than usual and reverse exploit Villains use of ICM pressure.

Hey guys! Thanks for the comments.
I ended up tanking down to 1/4 of my bank and folded..A part of me REALLY wanted to call for the exact reasons MrSneeze laid out in relation to ICM. I felt that Pads was potentially applying ICM pressure on me and went for the large sizing to maximise fold equity..... but i let him have it.
@Jakoon Although i did fold.. In game i never considered the 6s blocking a % of his bluffs. Ill try not to forget incorporating this concept into my thought process again in the future when breaking it down.
After the hand i also realised i never considered what my stack situation would be as a result of carrying out each action Call/Fold. I fold i have 55BB/If i called and lost i would have been average stack at 40BB. I call and win i have CL with close to 90BB & we knock steam out of the best player left in the field.
Pads showed 4spades when I folded. I presume he had A4ss or 45ss

Cheers for you comments guys..
I ran the numbers through HRC ICM. We did not cover villain so no bountys are available for us to win in this hand & im not sure how to include future EV of potential bountys so no bountys included in the calc.

"may narrow enough his range that KQ turns to bet a value bluff."
The Villians calling range will tend to tighten the larger Hero bets.
In essence you should adjust (reduce in this case) your bet sizing to target calls from the type of hands you wish to gain value from.
By betting bigger Villian has less odds on a call which should generally impact the calling range here. If this means less hands you beat turn up in villians calling range then there will be less hands that KQ will gain value from. You will have a greater Ev when Villian folds in comparison to when hero calls.
Check back here.

Cheers Sam nice 1 for the input!!
Sept. 2, 2015 | 3:16 p.m.
Ok thanks.
Looks like I have over estimated BTN open range
Ive allocated the below range for BTN open (40%)
22+, A2s+, K2s+, Q7s+, J7s+, T7s+, 97s+, 87s, A2o+, K8o+, Q8o+, J8o+, T9o
His calling range here id imagine to be 22+, A8s+, KJs+, ATo+, KQo . (1/3 of hands in opening range)
Assuming he folds 2/3 times here. ev+ 26,400*2= +52,800
Assuming he calls 1/3 times here. 131,922 /(283,844+52,800) = .392
Equity calc:
A7: 22+,A8s+,KJs+,ATo+,KQo
34.5% : 65.5%
We need to have 40% equity verse his calling range for this to be profitable.
A10 has 41% verse his calling range.
Is my math ok here?

Raphael thanks for you input. Much appreciated.
To clarify:
1) Your rip it range will consist only of hands that will have decent equity verse BTN 3bet calling range.
2) Flatting a weaker Ax type hand in this spot oop preflop will have increased ev if Villian will Cbet A high flops with a high frequency.
Spoiler: As played i shoved the A7. Would you consider this the least desirable play in this spot?
If BTN opens 80% here and calls a jam with only the top 10% of opening range can we add any Ax into the rip it range in this spot and still turn a profit?
Thanks again man!

Villian is running 30/22/3.5 over 90 hands.
SB has been playing relatively snug 22/15 with 3bet 4.8. 90 hands
If I can reel in this pot here I will increase my stack size by 20%.

Hey Guys im new to Run it Once and would really appreciate any advice on this spot.
So there's 23 players left im on the Big Blind (12.5BB) Action is folded around to Cut Off (13bb) who min opens. This player has been quite active and has only recently just got short in the last orbit. Button(60BB) is tournament chipleader and eventual winner dntrvrmplz who has been playing an aggro game 3betting quite a lot applying pressure etc. SB(40BB) has also been pretty aggro in position. Both players fold.
I have 55, Shove or Fold??
Love this video.
Thx man
