I have one note on him, bvb he floated me IP with 85o on a Q4Qr board.
HJ folds, CO raises to $1.50, Hero calls $1.50, SB folds, BB folds
I think he reraises AJ and sets.
I keep value betting.
I didn't really expect a bet from him though. It doesn't make sense. Only 87s got here, but that should raise the turn at least some % of the time, and it's 1 single combo.

He also knows that my cbet % is on the higher side, around 73%, and I open 55% of the buttons.
SB is a 48/25 fish.
UTG folds, HJ folds, CO folds, Hero raises to $1, SB calls $0.75, BB calls $0.50
After the fish folds, I think he generally will try to exploit my high cbet % and this is an excellent board for it.
Assuming his range contains a reasonable chunk of air and semibluffs, what are our options here?
Call flop and shove safe turns? Call flop, fold bad turns (which there is a lot)? Or 3bet fold the flop as I did?
I know 3bet/folding seems dodgy, but it ends the hand as it is, and I also look extremetly strong. I don't think it's a big crime to turn our hand into a bluff as our hand can't stand the heat anyways. Thoughts?

raising those hands isn't necessarily terrible, as you can see, people consider 3betting, floating with A high in this thread

flatting QJo bb/co vs a reasonable reg range will be a losing play even if you're confident in your game in my opinion
July 25, 2014 | 10:25 a.m.
I think 3betting this hand is only good vs villains who rarely call 3bets, only 4bet or fold.
July 24, 2014 | 7:59 p.m.
I can see villain valuebetting worse here, lower flushes, trips, AA-QQ. You shouldn't have much bdfds in your range so you having a flush is not a big concern in villain's eyes. I think it's in an easy call once we get to the river this way.
Pre I don't like the flatting vs a 1.5bb raise, I'm more inclined to 3bet. If it's a 2bb raise then calling is better.
On the flop, I like c/r flop lead good turns more than call flop- c/r turn, although turn c/r ranges in general are up to debate and depends on your style.

I hate the calling pre, is it only me?
July 24, 2014 | 5:50 p.m.
If villain is spewy/unorthodox, he can easily have KQ or AK
July 22, 2014 | 10:01 a.m.
Pre size is fine. I think I would check at some point in the hand. As played I definitely fold the turn, because I can't see him bluffing enough on this board vs our percieved range, and we have a bluffcatcher.
July 21, 2014 | 2:18 p.m.
Problem is, fish like to talk themselves into a call here with some funky 2p or overpair
July 21, 2014 | 1:24 p.m.
I think 95% of his flatting range here is flush draws, maybe occasionally JT, but never a made hand like 44 or Q9s, because they would 4bet on the flop oop for sure. At this point I'd treat my hand as beat, and check back to fill up.
July 18, 2014 | 10:23 a.m.
I bet/called in the heat of the moment figuring he would ship all his broadways and flush draws he could've ended up with here, I never imagined he is capable of just calling AK and I block KQ. It was definitely just a biased perception of his range to support my decision, but I'm still not sure whether it was good or not. He had KK btw.
July 18, 2014 | 10:18 a.m.
making herocalls with A high against fish has never turned out to be a good idea for me, exactly because they're so random, they have so many merged shit in their range
July 18, 2014 | 10:11 a.m.
I think both calling and 3betting vs a 60% opener is better than folding. As for the hand, by raising the turn on the blank your hand exactly looks like what it is, so any decent hand reader will call you light here.
July 18, 2014 | 9:55 a.m.
I think the sizing is fine.
July 18, 2014 | 9:51 a.m.
If we bet the flop, we have to b/f right?
July 18, 2014 | 9:47 a.m.
You can either shove vs stations, and strenghten your c/call range OTR vs regs.
July 18, 2014 | 9:31 a.m.
I hate the raise with a static hand like this.
July 18, 2014 | 9:28 a.m.
Well played, villain's bluff frequency should be fairly low on this river. I fold, unless I know he is capable of bluffing boards like this.
July 18, 2014 | 9:25 a.m.
Thanks. Later his stats correlated to typical reg stats, so he isn't a fish. He was also multi-tabling as I realized later. What would be your assumptions about his range if he is a regular for sure?

SB: $50.55
BB: $50 (Hero)
UTG: $62.74
HJ: $53
CO: $86.24
31/24
btn steal : 66%
fold to 3bet otb: 73%
SB is:
25/19 with a 13% 3bet sb/btn.
UTG folds, HJ folds, CO folds, BN raises to $1.75, SB raises to $5.75, Hero raises to $11, BN calls $9.25, SB folds
I think that's a broad assumption. I think lots of fish minopens fancy suited hands thinking they're durrrr.
