Hi

I am starting to take poker seriously and want to improve the most efficient ways. Which i think is to stop my own leaks, but if i knew them they probably would be easier to stop. Can i somehow use HM2 data/reporting for checking spots where i loose most?

I was thinking about GTOwizard, but think there are more low-hanging fruits for now.

I am currently beating NL2/NL5 zoom with a win-rate of 5,52BB/100 but i think it is possibly to improve my game a lot.

Hello RIO

After a couple of years break, I'm ready to dive back into poker, and i need some strict system/rules for aggressive progression. I was curious if anyone here had success with some system/rules for this?

NOTE: I was grinding from NL2z to NL16z when i was playing, and i started at NL2z again with 10 BI, now at 25 BI.

Blinds: $0.02/$0.05 (6 Players) BN: $6.40
SB: $5.13
BB: $11.27 (Hero)
UTG: $13.13
MP: $6.12
CO: $6.96
Preflop ($0.07) Hero is BB with 7 5
2 folds, CO raises to $0.15, BN calls $0.15, SB folds, Hero calls $0.10
Flop ($0.47) 5 8 5
Hero checks, CO checks, BN checks
Turn ($0.47) 5 8 5 A
Hero checks, CO bets $0.23, BN calls $0.23, Hero raises to $1.00, CO folds, BN calls $0.77
River ($2.70) 5 8 5 A 2
Hero bets $1.84, BN raises to $5.25 and is all in, Hero folds
Since the cold-calling from BTN vs CO, i just see so much set mining, so 88 makes sense. I was close to call though, as villain had 11% 3bet and i talked myself into 88 being a part of his 3b range, but ended up folding. Happy with the disciplined fold.
Final Pot BN wins $6.12
Rake is $0.26

Post | heine100 posted in NLHE: Worst session to date (NL5Z)

What a session!
2 x KK vs AA
1 x AA cracked
2 x sets over set
And just not hitting any boards...

Never tried anything like it..

I'll try again tomorrow ;)

Positives: no punts even though i ran so shitty.

Feb. 14, 2023 | 6:49 p.m.

Grinded it through the swings, when hitting 120$ TOT profit I'll try some NL10z

Jan. 31, 2023 | 5 p.m.

Update:
I started playing and lost 10 BI, took a break and grinded some of it back at the NL2z pools. I gave it another shot and is running hot with 17BI up with a total EV/100bb on 8

There are way more aggressions and bluffs, and you also have to bluff more yourself. (not necessarily the big spots, but when you spot weakness)

Thanks for the answer about how to think stakes, will take a shot tomorrow :)

Thanks for the answers. I play 4 tables, and would probably cut it to 2. Here's graph:

Hey! Just curious on when you moved from NL2z to NL5z? Both in form of ability and bankroll
I've grinded my bankroll from 50$ to 150$ and think i have a decent roll to try out NL5. Any other comments about NL5, is it almost same level as NL2?

Thanks, I will check it out.

Hey guys!
I've returned to poker and I'm starting from scratch NL2z. Currently i try to master my pre-flop game and it has come to BB defend range.
Right now I'm defend on a what i feel is +ev. Taking open position, szie and reg vs rec into consideration. But i want to build my ranges.

I will start on calling ranges and later 3-bets. What should my approach be? Is there some decent ranges out there i can build on (that is also considering the high rake)?

Furthermore: I'm looking for study partners, in NL2-NL10 area.
I play NL2 just to build bankroll for NL5 and will be moving up soon

Post | heine100 posted in NLHE: What is decent stats?

Mine here:
I play NL2z with high rake, so i play bit more nitty than i like to. But i have no idea what optimal should be (i know it depends on player pool).

Without readings I'm folding this 100% of the time, especially to 3-bet.

I haven't heard about it and it's probably against most poker sites TOS.

Could we agree that this board benefits callers range way more then 3-bettors range?

April 8, 2019 | 8:56 a.m.

Readless i like to over-fold too as many spots are very under-bluffed, but there are decent amount of players who get's out of line quite often. I'm using my HUD quite a lot in these close situations if i have hands enough on villain.

I was wondering if there existed some kind of study group for low stakes grinders who are dedicated to improve? Or if someone here is interested in it, and wanna establish something.

Comment | heine100 commented on Tough river spot NL5z

Yes, but it's NL5 and it's crazy sometimes. And all spots are very underbluffed. So i decided to call the turn raise and evalutate on river. Maybe re-raise jamming is better due to equity denial.

So you think i played it fine? I think i would call if i had the A of spade instead of diamond, but not sure.

I know it's not a big simple, but there are just so many crazy players, that i think it actually shouldn't be possible to loose over a 12K sample...

Post | heine100 posted in NLHE: 12,000 hands NL2z - down 3 BI

Is this normal? Used to crush the NL2 zoom pools, the last week im loosing over 12,000 hands. Not even felt some really sick bad beats or anything. Just curious if i should start investigate my gameplan, even though I'm already doing this by studying the game 1 hour a day.
