Hey lIlCitanul thank you for your comments.
I would also 4bet almost always. I flatted due to gameflow and dynamics.
My river bet is indeed for thin value. When he checks the turn I know he does not have a lot of top pairs or two pairs in his range. There will be more combos of 1 pair by the river that might call a small bet than his nutted range.
That was my reasoning for the small river bet.

JamesYang Thanks for the input. Good point on playing to learn.

JamesYang I appreciate your comments. Yes i see how this is an inconsistent line. Thank you for the input.

On the other hand on a 3bet pot the line of bet bet bet would probably only be called by AJ,KJ and 8x and random fdraws?

ST3 Messaged you :)

Defending 36s is a bit too wide imo for Nl5. Either 3bet in position or move on.
Turn should be a check. Problem here is that by the river you removed a lot of his Ax combos,
Against a competent player bet fold would the right play on the river.
JamesYang would you mind elaborating on the river sizing? We are already betting 1/3 of pot. What would you make that?
I think for NL5 I would go bigger and exploit most NL5 who cant find a fold.

I think after you bet 2.5 bbs and the SB completes its safe to assume that BB calling range will be wider than what you assigned. I wouldn't be surprised for him to have holdings such as A3o, 54o, 53, 36s,78o, that he decided to peel with for pot odds.
By the turn the BB is betting 2/3 of pot and based on what he has behind in his stack he is not folding.
Given their stack sizes I would re-raise flop at NL25 and make sure I realise my equity and deny as much of theirs.

Hey guys, thanks for the input. Always good to get some perspective.
Seems like I am over thinking this too much hehe.
Is the correct play to fold turn or river?
JamesYang this was played here at Runitonce. :)

Thanks Gohan.
Yes i think by the river it should be a smaller bet.

Its quite unlikely he found a set there given the preflop action.
I agree with above that your 4bet range should have more 77+ and less speculative 4bets there.
Postflop I like the play. Represents a lot of strength and you will have a lot of value combos yourself taking this line. You also deny him river equity when he folds while you still have 25% improve against over pairs.

lIlCitanul Thank you for the breakdown. I like your line of thinking here and retrospectively I agree it should have been a fold.
