Thx Dylan for producing this nice series. I actually reconized that people tend to have again bigger 3 bet sizings at High- and Midstake MTT's. Why does this have changed and what are the advantages of 3 betting bigger then small nowadays again? Obv i produce more FE when sizing bigger but my bluffs get more expensive then. Do i need to adjust my 3 bet frequencies when I'm sizing bigger? So that I'm more balanced toward value hands then bluffs.

Lets say we have btw 35bb and 50bb + Ante. I'm used to 3 bet smaller in avg to keep my bluffs cheaper and my opponents range wider. My avg 3 bet sizing in that scenario is usually 2.5-2.9 times bigger then the opr when I'm oop. In pos 2.1-2.5 times bigger then the opr.

Specially IP it seems that good regs prefer to 3 bet closer to 3x of the opr then it in the past. E.G. KK hand at 27:54.
Or even bigger when they are oop. E.g.: the A8 and AJ hand at the very beginning of the Video.

Thx a lot.

we probably should take those close spots in tough fields and skip them in softer ones?!

if the sb wasnt in the hand i wouldnt mind squeezing if they are both pretty wide. if we have no reads on the sb i would also call or if we know he is loose too, but doesnt call allins for a big chunk of his stack with weaker hands.
if we have those reads on all of them, why not getting a nice over 50% stack increase with all that deadmoney or still flipping against a huge part of their calling range.
as rapha said we nearly got our 15:1 implied odds in a 4way pot and closing the action. folding isnt an option here imo
for me it really depends alot on the villians and if they have all pretty wide ranges and stacksizes which we can hurt, i´ll go for the squeeze and take the 50% stack increase

i ran this in icmizer and it obv depends on the exact ranges. the sb call looks like a hand which has good playability or 22-99 but isnt strong enough to 3bet/c or to call our shove(i guess 77-99 could call us,depending on how loose he perceives us and his stacksize).
his stacksize would be interesting too. but if we have no reads on him its kinda difficult.

i gave the active player a 25% range and the station a 35% range and then its 33+. if mp is looser deuces become a shove too.
with the sb in the hand its 55+. but i discounted qq+ in his range.

how is this the fastest call with a set if he only shove flushes? doesnt make sence

Dec. 17, 2014 | 7:52 a.m.

great vid guys.
i tried to use the tourney stacksize filter which got the same problem because we got to small sample. i see a big benifit in it, cos we can see how players change gears(or not) with different stack sizes.someone using it or any idea when it could be helpful?

i mean this is a live mtt and i am not really into that, but my expirience is that this really small turnbet induces alot of bluffs, aggressive played semibluffs and tp combos and i would fold aces here only with a read on villian that hes a nit. we beat too many combos imao to fold there with the money we already invested its a clear broke. where are the pros? i am pretty sure u cant fold this without a specific read

especially the different sizing in older books is confusing tome. even if the strategy of a move is still up to date.

dont want to doubt what u said, but since poker is changing so quick and the books are from 2008 to 2012, can more people confirm that the books are still worth buying. would be great to hear from some more people.

I think u r too short to call pre. Think he checks behind a lot otf with air and made hands.but I would say his huge bet ott doesn't look like a made hand. Looks like he just felt your weakness after checking twice. Maybe a club in his hand or the ten aswell. Tough spot u could avoid by folding pf

No replies here? I am really interested! Cos qts is actually pretty good flopping hand, but we are really short as well and icm is a big factor here as mentioned
