So how would you go about exploring small pots ?
Actually maybe that could be part 2 of this series

Loved the drill exercise idea as well!

its just a h2n feature, OOP might have put his entire stack left but only effective stacks shows
Oct. 7, 2022 | 1:59 a.m.
Id agree with OP. And the concern isn't only to lose value from the draws playing bbx its that some of the value hands will catch a scary runout and play bbxf when on the turn they could both - value and draws - play bet betcall.
And we're not losing any ev by having really weak range on the river on blank runouts since OOP just chicken check these runouts.

such a good video : data point start, hh game review and then some in depth analysis

42:00. AsKo, agree with the non probe turn range, so why not delaying range here? Especially with AK the hands he is folding like QThi etc we don't dominate and we crush the check calls Ahi Khis.

Also maybe so deep actually making boat on the 3c and setting up the flushes is something we want?

Well Id be curious to see how you modelled that, looking at it quickly every hand seems to be making a ton of money.
I put 0,1bb ante for each. ~100 iter/node, so ev should be quite accurate.
72o 20bb/100 better than folding
Nov. 30, 2021 | 9:31 p.m.
Well I clearly prefer sb minraising and I pip 100%. Literally a 100. EV between humans is gonna shift to IP even more so even fringe hands get more profitable imo

Hi Luke
Great video!
SB first in why are you 2,1x ing? Especially with antes I don't get it we are not pressuring any hands, BB can just vpip everything.
On the same spirit : why such small 3bet IP in ante games? CO 2.4x you 6x. Although here I could see more merit as villain is OOP and might struggle to defend 70%+

deuce triple draw limit yes.
or the mixed triple draw limit games deuce, ace to five and badugi. you can review the final table of the 2500 wsop event just right now.
such a good game

Good video
How do you have pio get rid of the hands that are not in the preflop range or those which the board doesn't allow?
July 5, 2021 | 1:33 a.m.
Thanks for the vid Daniel
In the last hand QQ you mention that you would have a lot of bluffs so A5cc A9cc A8cc could end up calling. Which bluffs?
50bb BBvBTN in ft 6left Im guessing bluffs come from T9s 65s hands type, which cant bluff here (pair or straight). So would you have some A3o that triple?
Also what do you think is the best range construction pre at this point in the ft of a ko tournament? going playability or polar for the bluff region?

Great video. Looking forward to seeing more parts of this footage with the presence of the BOSS...
5:00 and 12:18 you used 90% cbets on 952s and J43s
What are the criteria of the flop texture for such sizing plan ? Flops where its hard to make 2pairs ?
Feb. 27, 2017 | 5:44 p.m.
Great questions imo. How do you play flushdraws on the turn in that spot ? Seems horrible to bet/fold or bet/call. My first guess would be to either go allin (and add AK AQ into this size ie the least river playable hands) or check.

- 16:55 JT river bet very small. Why this sizing choice ? This bet is claiming you valuebet thinner than Qx, but you dont ?
- 44:15 AA turn overbet JTxQ. Why betting so big ? You dont seem to have that much bluff from your CO range on this board. low diamonds. I guess most Ax are xbacks on the flop and you have only the suited versions anyway. I'd size 20-25
- last hand JJ on AJ8r9sx. What are the best hands you bluff river ? Seems like the 3 AK bdfd wouldnt be enough - maybe you bluff AKss already on the turn.
Thanks !

"a bigger river x/r size will allow him to bluff more." I dont understand the logic. Since bluffs should be ev0 at equilibrium, we want to size bigger to increase the ev of the value region, dont we ?

Hi John,
1:56 88 in 3bp vs rec on J53hh 2 K
If we disregard balance, why not folding Jx as well as 88 ? They should have same ev, so if you call, it's for frequencies issues ?42 A4 BTNvBB rec on AKx2cc 3 5c
Clubs get there and the runout is 4 to a straight. There are some missed QJ JT hands buts vs a fish, I think we get called by AJ AT A9 type of hands way more often if we size 60-75. Why did you bet 80 ?
Feb. 7, 2017 | 3:08 p.m.
Hey Kevin, thanks for the video :))
7min : 75o overbet for 150%pot. Our bluffs wont have good removal effects in this spot apart from maybe 8xdd and some 3x, so arent they running too much into calling hands for this size ? Or is this not a concern because you sized small flop+turn, so 5x are very rare ?
Jan. 8, 2017 | 11:21 p.m.
Hi John thanks for the video
23:05 : given his flop sizing there is no hand such as JT TT 99 77. So what are you trying to get called by on the river ? AK AQ hi ? Usually when these hands bet so big on the flop its to barrel off, so I dont really expect these hands to be in the bet big flop-check turn range either... I think exploitively we can either bet very small this spot or check.
Jan. 4, 2017 | 1:13 p.m.
I dont understand why you favor 6x+overcard+Ahi blocker to 6x+undercard...
The latter seems to get more value from Ahi and have cleaner outs on the 2p ones (I play more 6max so on JT6 COvBB or BTNvBB I'd rather bink a 5 with 65 than an ace with A6).
Thanks :)

Hey
Thanks for the answers
This hand was just the example that made me think about this topic. The hand is very likely a pot/get in.
I was more interested in the completely theoretical aspect of how you decide if you have enough equity vs stacking off range given spr x to pot the flop in a 3bet pot
Nov. 24, 2016 | 12:03 p.m.
Hi
Im fairly new to PLO and dont really have much idea of how strong/weak a hand is in a spot given spr.
I would like to get a sense of the equity needed to stack off given a spr in 3bet pots (but it should be applicable to any spot).
Here is the example
I 3bet AdQhTh9d vilain calls oop.
Flop is Q54csd
140 in the pot 365 left.
I would like to approach these spots as follow :
If Hero pots, he is effectively all-in, so Hero is risking 365 (stack)
If vilain is making hero indifferent between potting and checking back, we are trying to find eq (equity) so that :
ev pot = ev check
fepot + (1-fe)(eq(pot+2stack)-stack) = ev check
Then I play around with the value of ev check (between 25% and 50% of the pot), and I see how much equity is needed vs stacking off range to pot. (I usually find that I need between 30-35% equity vs stacking off range - not many hands have less than this...)
One part I am not sure about is how I should set the value of fe (fold equity). If I give the standard 1-alpha (here would be 365/(365+140) so 72%) I am guessing it is not totally accurate since hero's bluff have so much equity, vilain can probably get away with folding more ?
Any critic, help, comment is appreciated :)
Thanks !
Ben

36:00 : Q8o bvb on J9xr 9. Why would you be suprised if oop leads this turn ?
This series is absolutely brilliant
