Can you explain why squeezing with JJ is overplaying? I would think squeezing with this hand would get value out of some of his range (77-TT and broadways) and he would only 4b with better hands.

I don't think I could find a fold here. On the flop he's raising with a wide range of flush draws, straight draws, bottom set, middle set, and two pair. I don't see a reason for him to slow down on the turn with any 8 or better because you had called the raise on the flop. I would think most of his range on the river would be bluffs with busted draws, or K9 thats looking for value out of your top pair hands, and there are a lot more busted draws than combos of K9.
