Hi Rio,
Today I suspended my elite subscription but after I did it, I felt sort of bad for not asking first what I´m missing on RIO. The game I play the most is heads up PLO and while I really appreciate the vids Phil makes I would really like to see some vids from people who are playing mid to high stakes on a daily basis combined with a more technical approach to the game.
Since sauce won't be making any PLO vids, is RIO able and/or thinking about signing another pro who can deliver this material in the near future ? I really hope so, so I can renew my subscription.
Best,
Wreed Platzak

Hi Leo,
Thanks for replying but come on are you really serious here ?
Based on the AK55 hand I could either tell :
a) you have very bad fundamentals and aren't able to handread properly, OR (more likely)
b) the way you played your hand here is based on a lot more than what you're telling us in the video.
With your reply you basicly admitted that B is the case here. So here we are looking at a video that continuously shows plays that are based on (apparantly) deep reads and lots of history but WITHOUT A PROPER EXPLANATION ?!?!
I quote : ''My goal with this vid was to show players from smaller stakes how i play in a 5/10 deep hu game. ''
This might come as a surprise but man when you release a HU PLO vid your ONLY goal is to TEACH us how to play heads up plo. Not to show us a random capture of a deepstack plo match just for the sake of showing it to lower stakes players. If you don't want to go in depth on your strategy and your opponents you play everyday than just don't make vids about them because this way of vid making (by making read based plays look standard) is potentially harmfull to players who don't have that much experience / solid fundamentals playing HU PLO.
And with you saying im out of line a bit: I don't think I am. You might be a PLO professional for 20 months but you have very little experience in playing HU PLO. I don't think you've played more than 30k hands of HU PLO this year (correct me if im wrong) so while you may be a great 6max player that for sure doesn't mean you're equally good in HU. It's a completely different animal.
Just my 2 cents. Again no offense here on my part. I just want to see quality stuff :) (and not only from Phil Galfond ;) )

GT you're clearly missing the point of my post. It's not about ''is or can the call with AKxx be correct ?''. It's about HOW Leo gets to that conclusion. If i recall correct the only thing leo says on the river is ''i have to snapcall because i'm at the top of my range''. And that argument is by far the least important factor in the entire decission. The only deciding factor is lautie's expected range on the river and how our hand compares to that. If Leo would have done a thorough range analysis throughout the hand then (i hope) he would have realised that the K on the river doesn't change all that much. It definately doesn't improve Leo's hand RANGEwise so while his call can definately be correct , his explanation and arguments for it don't hold up at all. (I assume you understand why , if not let me know and I write down a default and readless analysis for this hand) And even if they did hold up, he failed to teach me miserably.
My opinion is that RIO shouldn't allow marginal video's like this to be posted on their site. Leo has >6k hands on Lautie so there's definately a lot of history. This should have resulted in some sort of gameplan at the start and way more player specific plays and adjustments throughout the video. It's just not there at all. This is just releasing vids for the sake of releasing. The ''elite'' members of RIO learn 0 from this. Last but pretty important thing i want to mention is that, unless people have exceptional pokerminds, they shouldn't be making elite vids in gameformats they don't play all that much. Which is also the case here.

I've got some serious problems watching your vids. First of all you suffer the problem that English is not your native language so it doesn't sound as smooth as one would prefer in an educational video. This is off course not that big of a problem especially if you talk in an interesting and dynamic way, but unfortunately that's also not the case here... your tone is very very monotone and you tend to talk like a robot : a couple of words - a couple of seconds pause - a couple of words - pause again etc etc .. Most of the time it takes you way too long to just complete a sentence.
Still one could overcome the stuff as described above when the stuff you say is very interesting but I also think you seriously lack in that area. Just as an example : The way you analysed the 500bb pot with AK55 hand is close to laughable and definately not the way one should expect 500bb(!!) pots to be analysed on a $100 per month subscription site. The play lautie makes here is pretty suicidal and your call on the river can only be correct if you suspect Lautie having quite some 0% equity bluffs in his range. Rangewise the K on the river doesn't even improve your hand so your whole argument ''with the K on the river im at the top of my range so i have to (snap)call'' is invalid in my book, unless you have some reads that you didn't tell us about (how did the stacks get so deep anyway ?!?!). There's only one ''value''hand on the river that you now beat with that K on the river (AJxx) and thats a very unlikely hand for him to have in the first place. There's just no complete range/scenario analysis through out the hand which is the least i would expect from a teacher at this stake. This hand is just an example but I could point out many more in the vids you've made so far.
Sorry if I might come off a bit rude but since I play HU PLO almost exclusively I really want the HU PLO content on RIO to be worth the money and to be honest, unless you can improve drastically in every important aspect of teaching poker, I really do think you shouldn't be making mid to high stake HU plo videos. Just my 2 cents.
Am I the only one who just can't stand the ''word'' checkbacking ? :D
