nice one, Paul! How would you proceed with 8d7d (around 6:30 mark) if the turn hadn't been another 7?

Hey Espen, I liked the video pretty much! Nice strategy cold-calling a lot in position against his minraises in SB. I would love to see more of that stuff!

I don't like the idea of shoving here and I don't like to 3-bet/call if he is fairly nitty from UTG. What's his Raise 1st stat from UTG? He should have a fairly narrow range since there are two reshove stacks. Thus, I'd prefer a call and if depending on the action behind us, snap-call a shove from a laggy/active player behind us. If you shove, you allow villain to play perfectly against you cause you will never get called by worse, unless he is a huge fish...

Thank you so much for your comment Grayson! The reason for me to not 3-bet pre was, that he was 4-betting me very light earlier and folded to a couple of 5-bets/shove. I didn't want to get pushed of my hand and consequently, just flatted.

The other thing, that came to my mind, is that his raise OTR is so small compared to the pot size (you're getting 4,45:1) and consequently, he hasn't got much fold equity if he decides to ch/jam it as a bluff. thats why i think that he is pretty nutted here.

March 11, 2013 | 4:14 p.m.

the only two hands of his value range that make sense to me here are probably 44 and A8. i would assume that he would 3-bet/induce AA,KK,99,AK,(A9?,44?) pre, especially against you playing on the laggier side, and i think that he probably raises A4 OTT. but i'm not really sure. i'm still very new to tournament poker and thus, i'm not that good in analyzing MTT hands. i would love to hear other opinions...

I think TT are way too good to fold here. This is like the top of your opening range from CO, which should be fairly wide given your stack size. I don't expect SB to like ever have a hand here. He's got so many bluffs here and therefore I would 4-bet him. I didn't check ICM yet since I'm not at my home PC, but I think you can figure it out yourself.

Such spots suck when you have no reads on the 3-bettor. Against an aggressive 3-bettor, I would for sure try to induce 5-bet shoves by 4-betting him. You're getting good odds for a call, but I think that the other two players are a little too shallow for profitably set mining here. Summing up, I would go for a shove here and expect a ton of folds from the 3-bettor (who has to fold so much since it's so close to the bubble) and expect calls from the BTN mega fish with Ac2s. But once again, this spot sucks since there are no 3-betting stats from the HJ.

I like that idea too! I think it would be better to actually learn from mistakes

28:07 and 30:14: You made your point clear why you shove JJ, but in 30:14 I am really not sure if I like that shove. Since I guess that his 3-betting range probably consists of small Ax a lot, wouldn't it be better to play a pot in position with such good equity and having him dominated so often?

06:09: Jono, would you fire a third bullet if the river wasn't a 9? And if yes, which cards would you bet and which sizing?

Thanks so much. I had that feeling in my guts that he had me beat and I should have trusted them. Also you're experiences all add up to folding being the best decision here. I guess a relatively reasonable player has to have KK+ here.

Jan. 15, 2013 | 6:56 p.m.

So it basically comes down to the point whether I think he would do that with AK or not. To be honest, I don't know. In tournaments with smaller buy-ins people are probably 4-betting here very light. But in this tournament with a relatively big buy-in I think players tend to play a little tighter. I might be wrong, but what are your experiences?

Jan. 14, 2013 | 12:55 p.m.

Thanks for your comment! No, I wasn't set mining. I guess a ch/jam would have been better than going for the ch/c and ch/c. I still don't like the idea of 4-betting here pre...but maybe I'm just wrong.
