The A6dd hand @ 13:00: you talk about this board being better for your range and it being hard for villain to call with his 88-AA. What about your own range? At what kind of frequency would you get to the river with hands that want to c/r river for value (set+ I assume?). Also, if you assume he's folding the 88-QQ and AA a high % of the time, shoving your sets OTR becomes pretty thin since villain has at least 7 combo's (54s, KK) of better hands.
I can imagine this being a profitable play in a nutshell, but would you also take this line against (better) villains you've played more against?

I found this vid a pretty good place to start.

That's common knowledge, isn't it?

Isn't the donkr series quite outdated?

I think I'll be able to in a reasonably short time, but I don't even have a clue about reasonable opening ranges etc, so will have to start from there.

Hi guys,
Me and a buddy have decided to spend our mondays studying PLO.
So here's the question I bet a million people have asked already.
However, I'm just gonna ask it anyway:
Where do we start studying PLO?
- Good books for beginners? Good Authors?
- Skip books and learn through RIO? Good essential pro's (we're noobs, Elite is prolly too advanced)
Background info
We're both experienced NLH players, I myself play up to 1KNL. I don't have alot of experience playing other games than Holdem but my buddy has played some other games at mid-stakes in the past.
One thing we're a bit worried about is - because we're beginners - we're vulnerable for bad information. Someone can give us just about any info on PLO theory and we'll take it for granted. Our "filter" doesn't work for this game.
Would love to hear some suggestions on how to start this journey!

Hand 1: easy shove pre. Given positions AK will be doing well against their ranges. Also, AK profits most from fold equity preflop. Getting 2 folds and netting 30bb is a great result. Putting 1/4 of your stack in and hoping for a good flop isn't that great.
Hand 2: Yeah, easy call in position here. UTG will be forced to play more honest because it's a dry sidepot, so you'll be able to realize more of your equity.

Turn bet is def not standard and might be a mistake, but at the time I thought there was still enough value in betting vs these specific players. A thing to note is that BTN snapped flop & turn. I think this makes his range less nutted and more Ax with a spade heavy.

That's about it. Still think there's a good chance he shoves 44. Then there's 6 combo's of A9.

I guess the real question here is: do we have to be worried about being exploited here? I guess not actually, as villain would have to be shoving alot of AhX hands OTR for our call to be profitable, as he'll have a ton of K high and A high flushes.

Ok his stats finally loaded. Over 1.8K hands his CO RFI is 29%. His flop CB is 56% so don't expect him to be cbetting middle pair hands like 87s. Turn CB is 47% and river CB is really high at 73%.

Seems very reasonable. Though I'm uncertain how villain will act on different rivers (also, my HEM isn't loading hands in the replayer atm so I can't look into his stats..). I'm wondering whether or not he'll continue bluffing on "bricks" since he should know that if we're calling turn we're not folding on bricked rivers.

16:12, left table. Don't really see the point of checking flop and then betting on the T. why not bet flop (small) instead?
