I'd agree with zenful from the info given, but i guess a more detailed profile on UTG would be needed to make a better decision. I'd start asking myself what type of player he is, given that you have a HUD, check the stats, how often does he open in early pos, etc..

Haha yeah, not that i don't know about how you should play J3s, of course i should fold, just wanted to see how the hand played out and if he checked flop, i could take it down. What i asked for was an answer on his perceived hand strength on the turn.

I think calling is too weak given the stack-sizes, looking to hit a set, putting him on an overpair is just not good odds. You could definitely shove and hope to get called by AK/AQ but I'd say a three bet to about 38K-42K is reasonable as well, depending on your reads and stats of your opponent. Does he fold to 3-bets after having opened early? If you have him on a hand like KQs for instance, he might fold but if he shoves over you, you could let it go. I don't know about people's ranges UTG, saw a video here yesterday from a guy who raised several hands late in tournaments with K3o and such, therefore the 3-bet to take it down but fold if he decides to shove. The three bet also gives you a chance to actually take it down on the flop if it comes AK4 and you believe he'd just call your 3-bet with JJ,TT and 99 for instance.

Hey guys, first post ever so have patience.

I was playing the big 11 yesterday, went fairly well, had a very pre-flop nitty supernova elite player 3 places to the left of me.
As he folded most bbs in early blind levels i decided to attempt a steal with J3s and he 3-bet me. I tanked for a little while and called, the flop came 894 with two diamonds, i figured i could take one call to his c-bet as i flopped the flush-draw and backdoor straight draw. The turn was a complete blank and he checked quite fast to me, I thought for a little while, (max 15 sec) and then raised half pot, he then moved in rather quickly.

Now obviously, I wish i would just have checked and hit my flush there, but my question is, seeing as this is a good player with very nice opr stats and a supernova elite status, is he sometimes bluffing in this spot seeing as my raise on the turn looks so goddamn weak? He probably figures I'm aware of his status, and his nitty image so I figured he could be 3-betting rather light, therefore the call pre, the c-bet is standard, as is the call with the draw, but on the turn, when he check-raises all in, does that always mean the nuts to you guys or could you ever call there if you had the J9s and had the one pair with a flushdraw?

Sorry for things being a bit messy, look forward to your thoughts.
Thanks!
