Good luck, Mush. Walk in the park, I'm sure. :P

Yes I do. -And you are quite right, I'll just have to get used to it. That's Omaha for you. :) Just nice to know that it can go both ways.

Way to work through a downswing. I'm very interested in the things that triggers your A-game. I've been wondering about this myself a lot lately. Can't seem to find any decisive clue as to when and why I play my A-game. Obviously you need to be well-rested and motivated but besides this my A-game is like a whale breaking the surface to breathe; it seems to be submerged a lot of the time but when it surfaces it is a magnificent sight! You still have to catch your EV-graph, Midori. It is trying to leave you behind.

Do you think it'll be fancy enough for her, Mush? High-class girl, you know. ;)
May 13, 2014 | 9:31 p.m.
I would! Got to get Elite first though. ;) Working on it.
May 13, 2014 | 9:28 p.m.
Don't worry, Max. It'll turn around. After playing March and April (30k hands combined) I found myself 44! buy ins below EV. Finally May came along and I've played 15k hands already (don't laugh, it's big for me) and I'm running 11 buy ins ABOVE EV!! Yes, ABOVE EV! That's a first for me! Hopefully it'll continue and I'll catch up with my EV-graph at some point. I know it is hard to keep your composure when the things you've described keep on happening, but a good way to think about it is like Wade said; if you get it in good that's all you can do. Keep working and keep playing and it'll turn around for you as well, I am sure. Best of luck.

I just feel like the 3bet pf isn't that standard with the stats OP has posted here. I'm not sure though and that is why I'm asking. I agree with your post flop suggested play once we 3bet but the pf play (and the given stats) is what causes me to wonder if a flat from sb is better than a 3bet.
May 8, 2014 | 11:48 a.m.
Would you the consider this a standard 3bet spot then? I just think when you do 3bet and get like 15% of your stack in its risking a lot to chose to bet/go with it on a wet board even though it hits our perceived 3betting range rather well. I agree however that when we play it like this we should bet the flop to call off since SPR is so low. Guess I'm just a tight nit not to 3bet this out of the SB.

Ok, Tom. I'll take that into consideration but I feel like there are bad aces like AA93 with no suit and then there are good aces where all the cards are connected and DB suited like AA53 or AAQ10. But you are the master of equity so I won't be stuck on my own assumptions. What is your take on the hand?

Hi Zen. Do you still have your blog on Nutblocker?-And will you be posting updates anytime soon? I really enjoyed reading it when I just signed up for RIO and for some odd reason I started to think about it and came back to it now. Unfortunately there is no new updates. :/

Hi Jimmy.
I would probably put these mediocre aces in my SB calling range. The reasoning behind this is that I think it would be a +EV decision to do so in this specific spot. With the stats you have posted on CO and BTN I would expect CO to call with his fish-like stats which would then cause BTN to make a call as well. Now BTN, with his reggish stats, doesn't seem too aggressive so you can't really expect him to 4bet here. Your hand doesn't hit that many flops and with the expected action to go as it did you will have really poor visibility in the hand (it will be hard to come up with ranges for either of them). It is always a bit tricky to play these spots out of the SB, but if you just call you can play the hand pretty laid back and catch the villains off guard when you do hit a monster. Hope this makes sense.

Really, Wade? It must be nice to gain patience by smoking weed. For me I think it would be the opposite. That's the case when I get back home from a night out where I've been drinking alcohol and instead of going to bed I open a few virtual poker tables. (Only did so a couple of times when I was younger) I would be über aggressive at stakes beyond my level.

Hi Wade. I really appreciate that you have taken the time to think about, and spell out, how to help me with my game! I do need a plan and some good habits as to how to go through my game and find my leaks (There are plenty, I'm sure).
There is no doubt that it would do me good to read some books on how to develop my game both on and of the felt (Mental game and so on). At the moment I am writing my masters for the University where I have been attending classes for 5 years now, so at the moment I'm reading Said, Dante, Todorov and the likes and I (unfortunately) don't have the time to read too much stuff about poker. (I'm making do with RIO when I need a breather from my studies). It is something I'll keep in mind at the end of the summer, when I'm hopefully done with school. :-)
I would really like to find out how to use PT4 properly and I have put forward a suggestion for the pros in here to make a video about the functions of PT4 in the video request thread in chatter. I hope somebody will be able to do a vid on PT4 in the near future or that people would post their knowledge on the software. It would be a great help for me!
Once again, thank you for helping me out and I will definitely make a schedule for when to put in some hands. :)

BTW I was merely offering an answer to his question about playing high. I could be wrong here, but I don't think that weed will have a positive effect on your win rate.
May 7, 2014 | 10:04 a.m.
Only tried it a couple of times but it didn't do anything for me. Even though people around me were either puking or totally wasted. Does it have any less effect when you are in good shape or am I just and odd ball?
May 7, 2014 | 9:32 a.m.
Easy Chael. It's a joke. A bumper sticker. Sorry if it offended anyone though.
May 7, 2014 | 9:30 a.m.
PLO is the S**T! But if you don't like variance, don't come over to the dark side! Catch you later, Wade.

Don't do drugs, kids. :P

I think we have a similar problem, Wade. Postponing sleep in order to play when our family is asleep or when we are home alone when we really should be napping instead. When you are too tired it usually doesn't end well at the tables so I guess we need to get a full night of sleep so we will be ready and sharp for our sessions. I hope you'll get your 8 hours, and I'll get mine when I'm off to bed in 4-5 hours. ;)

Isn't there a pro who would be able to do a vid about PokerTracker 4 and all the cool things you can do with it? I only recently purchased it and I feel like I've only scratched the surface of all of the functions. Please.
May 5, 2014 | 8:41 p.m.
Wrote my replies above. Thanks for chiming in, Wade.

My son is, for the first time since Easter, at daycare today so he has been sick as usually, but it seems as if he is back to his lively self. Hopefully he'll stay healthy for some time now. :) Thanks for asking.
Well, it is hard to balance it all, but poker is only number three (sometimes number 2 before school :-)) in this runout. My son is number one, then school and then poker. Really great idea about planning my week, Midori and Wade. I think that is a good way to do it for me. Up until now I've just played when I felt like it and had the time.
Maybe I should just transfer back to the regular tables. Yesterday I ran 8 BIs below EV at zoom. Sigh. It would also give me the added benefit of playing with a HUD as I play from a Mac.
Even though you say some of your advice is just stating the obvious it is still nice to have it spelled out for you and I appreciate you taking the time to ponder on these issues and share it.
Wade, as for PokerTracker4, I have a lot to learn and I still have high hopes that one of the pros in here will make a vid of how to use PT4 to review your sessions.
Thanks for your answers. ;)

I knew you had a good reason! :)
May 4, 2014 | 9:07 p.m.
I most certainly agree. I think my biggest problem is that I want to log as many hands as possible in between taking care of my son and schoolwork. I used to play normal tables and I really enjoy the dynamics you are able to develop when you are sitting at the same table with the same players for multiple hands.
I did only recently purchase PT4 so I can't say for sure, but I feel like I was beating the normal tables harder than the zoom tables.
When pokerstars have their milestone hands next time I'll probably play the normal tables again just for the hope of hitting one of those mysterious hands. Hell, I'll even mix in some NL tables. :P My hope is that I'll then fall in love all over again with the regular tables and play those moving forward. Zoom can be really cruel at times.
If you have any thoughts on the difference between zoom play and play at the normal tables, I would love to hear them once you have the time and can get to your computer.
May 4, 2014 | 6:32 p.m.
Would be nice if you could play both and collect a decent winning. Did you see a whale sitting at the table or did you just get bored waiting for HU action?
May 4, 2014 | 6:17 p.m.
6max, Mush?
May 4, 2014 | 6 p.m.
What a start! In 500 hands you were up like 10 BIs. :) Midori, you must teach me how to run above EV. :D That's a skill that I haven't acquired yet.
I think it is great that you consider the differences and similarities at the stakes and that you share this with us. Hopefully I'll move up from PLO25 soon and then I might want you to elaborate on how you see the PLO50 field. I play zoom, but I suspect that the players at the regular tables mix it up on and off with zoom. That's the case at PLO25 at least.
Good luck and I look forward to seeing your graph at the end of the month. ;)

Don't worry, Ari. Tom isn't my type. Way too talkative and his British accent doesn't really do anything for me. :P
May 2, 2014 | 3:53 p.m.
I really liked this series. Only one thing wrong with it - It makes me sad that I'm not a HU-player. :(
Welcome, Thomas. You won't regret joining RIO. ;) Can't really recommend any NL-vids, since I only play PLO. I recommend you switch to PLO though. :D Anyways, good luck on and off the tables.
