Great video. This format is great value, especially for a long time nlhe player adding plo games

Hi Jason. Thanks for the video.

43s open @ 16:50 - the big blind had shown to be quite the whale. Given we are ~70bb deep with him, does this justify opening wider on the low SC's here?

I don't see how c/c'ing some flush draws to this flop action is unreasonable.

Sept. 3, 2017 | 3:23 a.m.

Great video, thanks for this.

Bottom right around 38min w/ AJo on AKxx. What do you think of sizing up on both flop and turn here?

Jan. 29, 2017 | 4:18 a.m.

I understand where you are coming from. I want to hear as much about ICM when watching an MTT video as I can as well. It was still 9 handed though for the final table so pretty slow action and seemed like there was enough down time for something else.

Maybe once it gets down to ~5 players dropping the zoom would be necessary.

Thanks for the video.

Might I suggest for future content, In some basic preflop spots like opening UTG or 3betting SB vs MP, rather than only announcing what you are doing with your dealt hand, comment on what the worst hand(s) we should play in that given spot. It would help the casual LHE players among us formulate preflop ranges.

Table of cash on side is good and relevant to MTT play still.

If you watch the video you'll notice there aren't really any significant bounty spots (maybe 1?) but the postlfop analysis is very good and makes up for it.

Awesome vid, thanks.

+1 would be ideal to have recorded this type for future review

Thank you for doing a 44 bounty video btw, great to see some lower stakes stuff

Jan. 13, 2017 | 4:25 a.m.

Not sure how we aren't ripping pre w/ AJo in H1

Hey Jans, I don't mean to come off as if I discredit your opinion, as there is nothing wrong with believing the video is not elite level content. However, it is not constructive to make blanket negative statements in comments. A specific critique would be appreciated, both from the viewers and the video producer, and with that, we can get some discussion going.

8:11 T852 in the big blind: if we do decide to bet this turn would choosing a size around 1/3pot be appropriate?

Sept. 11, 2016 | 4:27 a.m.

If our opponents lowest equity bluffs beat a number of hands in our range, then we will fold higher than 1-A at least, potentially 50% depending on how many dead hands : bluff catchers we hold.

72s 3barrel blind vs blind - Would K7 not make a better 3barrel bluff candidate here?

If KQ is the one Qx combo that calls 100% then blocking this hand in addition to a straight will get more folds.

See the tutorials on the CREV website. There is really no other place to start if you haven't used the program before.

Hi Tyler. At the 15min mark, you probe the turn with TT on J663, 107 into 183. You don't mention anything about this sizing being peculiar, but most of your range OTT isn't looking to pile 2 streets for large bets.

What are your thoughts on a smaller sizing here?

Nov. 10, 2015 | 6:39 p.m.

Nicely done. Clear and well presented + good choice for a video series.

Nov. 9, 2015 | 9:15 p.m.

Great video series!

Around 18min you make a point that Kanu was thinking about bluffing because he tanked.

Why are we reading so much into this? He could/likely is just be tanking because that's what he does with his range. I wanted to point this out because I think reading too much into minute details like this sets us up for self-leveling in future situations.

Oct. 21, 2015 | 9:18 a.m.

2-3 minutes isn't really all that unreasonable.

If anyone else at the table was in your position they'd want to be able to do the same without bothering anyone. If you are generally quick to act in most trivial situations you should get respect for it. But if you are always taking forever to act people are going to be getting impatient. Maybe we can deal with this by having an estimated time bank for each table we play at in our heads and when we are faced with a situation we'd like to stall, consider how much of our bank we've used up and adjust accordingly.

OrganicLemon makes a really good point about not doing it at a table of mostly rec's though and I would strongly consider this.

Around 6min 30 with regards to the Kxxxx board you mention "checking to protect against the bet/check/bet line shouldn't be a priority" - yet it seems the vast majority of players do this? Or is it possible there is a bias to how I see the meta and others disagree entirely with my view?

It's a spot where you can/should value bet QQ in theory the times you take a cbet flop over check line (as you mention) on the river. But since villain is just checking every Kx to you it seems like a pretty clear check. What do you think?

Oct. 20, 2015 | 4:07 p.m.

Hi Tyler. Great video. Really enjoy this format and hope to see more like this.

You mentioned not having OOP player bet (donk) for keeping the game tree reasonable.

On this flop in particular it doesn't seem like OOP should have much of one at all. I agree that it is viable to remove this option for practical reasons.

But should we not have it as mandatory to include for the turn? You found that IP checks back some cards with a very high frequency. If OOP has the option to lead we can speculate that its possible both players strategies significantly change on these turns.

Why did you opt not to check/raise all in in H1?

BC: you do realize SB 5bet shoving 37% means 37% of the 19.6% range right?

This is pretty standard for a 5bet/fold strategy facing a 4bet....and its actually short of equilibrium. Hero can 4bet 100% of his opening range against this strategy. Therefore having villain being able to 5bet 37% of the time is not a bad thing. This would actually be preferable to having him play a (proper) mixed strategy of calling our 4bets in addition to 5betting.

I ran the scenario in CREV at 5/10 blinds with sizings of BU opening 30, SB 3betting 95, BU 4betting 220, SB jamming 1000 and SB ends up 5bet shoving 35% and folding 65% to arrive at this conclusion.

I dont understand why you didnt consider a call before a raise.

Why jam?
