Yes the only income for some periods. During these times you won't need to pay NI either.

I'm a uk resident. Have played for 10 years and never reported my profits. Cash transfers to banks have always been fine, as well as neteller.
Tax on gambling in uk was lifted probably about 15 years ago so you shouldnt need to worry.

You're right that sometimes you'll face a 4bet bluff, but mostly a 4bet will be a hand that dominates you. You mentioned that a lot of 3bets were getting peeled anyway (so no 4bet), which doesnt suprise me too much live. Against a wide 3bet calling range KQ is going to be doing well. Plus you have the advantage of being the aggressor in position post flop.
That being said, a lot is going to be based on your perceived image too. If you'd been 3betting a lot, a call may be the better play. Also you have to think about the likelyhood of getting squeezed by aggro players acting after you, as in your case. As Raphael Nogueira mentioned, he prefers the 3bet in this case.
As the hand played out Im not sure whether I would call the SB's 3bet. Im guessing eff stack sizes are about 40bb. I m not sure I would be 4bet jamming that often. If you call I think youre going to be facing a flop cb the majority of the time, so its really going to down to how comfortable you feel you can play the hand post flop vs SB.

What Sam said above, plus not to mention that you're going to take the pot down a bunch when both you miss post flop (given that you have the initiative and position). Especially if he is of similar stack size to you - tough to float you out of position.

Great Video Seth.
@10:05 99 Eff Stacks are about 35bb, you imply that you would fold to 4Bet shove, so calling pre may be better. What eff stack sizes would you consider 3 betting and calling a 4Bet shove to be better instead? And how early a position does villain need to be for you to also consider 3Betting to be the better option?

Very true, 150k is not high volume at all (not sure why I put that) but it's about all I can manage 4 tabling and playing live and online MTTs. Will check out 888 thanks.

Hi.
I'm looking for a new site to play 6max cash at $2/4 and $3/6. Over the past five years I've been playing on Full Tilt, Party and UB. Obviously UB is gone now. Full Tilt cash game player volume ain't so great. I've got a few issues with Party (excessive use of player scripts and downgraded rewards scheme). I play about 150k hands of cash a year. I'll still site select for soft games, but will focus 90% of my time on the one site to qualify for their rewards scheme. Any suggestions would be great.
Stars pops to mind first. I don't suspect I will have any problems getting Supernova (as I already play tournaments there). And at least the player script issue there is or will hopefully be less of a problem. However I am concerned about how tough the games are in comparison to other sites if I am going to play high volume. Any thoughts?
Cheers

Great timing - Ben Sulsky posted video on ICM Intro today.

Thanks for the responses. Both books are several years old, but looks very decent and still relevant. I'll be buying these at some stage.
I've definitely seen a change in the shoving and AI calling ranges in the past couple of years. I haven't put any work into ICM, but looks like an area I need to improve upon. It'll be interesting to see how far off my ranges have been in recent times.

Thanks. Will check out both your recommendations. The reason for non zoom videos is simply that I only play on standard tables. At the moment I have no short term plans to make the transition to zoom. I'm still unsure as to whether that zoom is a good idea for a winning cash game Reg. I'm open to being convinced otherwise but perhaps that's something for a future post. Its definitely a serious decision I have to consider to make sure I'm not missing out on potential earnings.
I've always assumed that the table dynamics are too different between the two types for zoom videos to be useful to me - I should check out a couple of zoom videos to make sure that's right though.

Although I've always been fairly profitable in online tournaments, the main part of my poker income is from mid stakes cash games. This means that developing my skills in tournaments have always taken a back seat (especially in the last 5 years or so). Apart from the very good videos on this site, I'll like to get an overview of the areas where I may be rough around the edges. I'm aware of a few books that have comeout recently. Any recommendations to the best books for the modern tournament game.
Also I will be looking to play some live tournaments (up to £3k buy-ins) in the near future. I have been fairly happy with my live game so far, but would like to take it to another level.
Cheers

Hi All. I'm new to this site so apologies if I have posted this in the wrong plaace. I have some very specific requirements as far as cash game videos are concerned:
Mid Stakes (2-4 to 5-10), 6Max and Non Zoom.
I would be really grateful if someone could recommend a list of videos or even pros that I could check out. I'm not having a lot of success scrolling through the list of NLHE videos at the moment - doesnt seem to be many filtering options.
Many Thanks
Off the top of my head I think it works out about 10% of income. The only benefit I'm aware of paying it is that it contributes to your pension. Personally I would go with a private pension, but that's a whole different subject.
