i see what you are saying and this definitely has merit, but wouldn't the part of his range that is "middling" be much larger than the part that is "strong" just based on probability? surely, you are going to flop nothing or something weak/middling far more often than flopping something strong. So using that logic, if someone is raising 25% and calling 15% (assuming a reasonably large sample) wouldn't that dictate that he is just more aggressive with a larger portion of his continuing range that would otherwise be calling?

Hey all,
I'm basically a beginner at using PPT/odds oracle, but im having trouble using the program specifically to figure out my equity vs opponents and their various tendencies otf in 3b pots. I use HEM2 currently and in my HUD, i have a line specific to my opponents' tendencies in 3b pots (call/raise/fold). I am trying to pinpoint specifically what parts of their range they are raising vs my cbets, rather than calling. In this example, ive picked a hand more or less 100bb effective and vs an opponent that has a 0% fold to 3b pf. The sample is somewhat small, only about 2k hands. My HUD is showing him opening ~30% from the CO, and vs cbets in 3b pots, his breakdown is as follows: call (21%), raise(27%), fold(52%). As i stated before, i am trying to narrow the part of his continuing range to flop that is raising my cbets (in this case, 27% of his 30% opening range). If i am going about the process incorrectly from this point, please let me know. Using odds oracle, i input 30% for the villain, and my exact hand. Once i type in the flop, i rewrite the syntax for the villain as "(27%):30%". Again, if this is incorrect, or there is an easier/better way to do this, please let me know. The point of this whole process is to try and get as close as possible to figuring out exactly the sets of hands hes doing what with (calling or raising). For example, is he raising 100% of his FD combos or only ones with a pair, SD? all his TP+ side cards? etc etc. Is there a way where u can do this in odds oracle and it will literally list out exactly the types of hands are in his raising range (ie: 85% of FD combos, all 2 pr+, etc ,etc). Thanks guys!

jnandez,
can you explain your HEM2 pop-up a bit for 3b tendencies at approximately midway thru the 25th minute? having a little trouble specifially with the "fold to 3bet" line as it looks like the stats you have for the villain specify he is folding 68% of the time otb vs 3bets. is that a mistake or am i reading it correctly? thanks for any info and clarification. rly enjoy the videos

enjoyed the video alot in terms of you explaining your reasoning behind the decisions (prefer the live format to HH review). only thing i didnt like was how it seemed as though you couldnt keep up with the action and clearly explain your thoughts simultaneously. perhaps recording a live session and then doing a video with the ability to pause is a good alternative???

hey phil,
im sure this has addressed before but can you get into detail on exactly whats in your HUD? im running PT, not HEM for mine so there may be a few differences. on my HUD i have a line specifically attributed to how my opponent plays flops vs me in 3b pots when i have the lead (how often they C/R/F). do you think this is extremely relevant or towards the realm of somewhat unnecessary? if its easier to link me to a video or post etc regarding info about your HUD and what you deem important lmk. just had a bit of trouble making out a few of the stats from the small print.
also wanted to ask ur opinion on what stats would be consistent for HU vs 6max and what ones would be different. sorry for the long post but rly love your vids and the way you think about the game. much thanks!

Blinds 100-200 I have 6k Layne has 15k and is in full Layne Flack mode. Hes opening wide from all positions He seems very comfortable. We have mixed it up a little bit, I'm of the opinion hes judging me as very LAG. He opens UTG +1 to 550 folds to me in the BB. I have 35 off. Here are my thoughts: I want to defend here because my best guess on his opening range is: Any suited 1 gappers any suited no gappers any 2 broadway + 9T, At+ and pairs but probably weighted towards 66 or 77+. I gave him that range because I thought he would play anything playable but would probably avoid some problem hands that dont have a ton of value oop like bad suited aces and small pairs. When I made my live read I read him for a playable hand but not a big hand so i deweighted big pairs and big aces. My thought was that this would be a good spot to defend the 35 because I could lead out a low flop that I flop a pair on and he would perceive my lead as very air heavy and either raise or float with air, if he just jammed over me i would call if he raised smaller i would ship. I could check fold an all high flop and probably opt to checkraise/call a flop like k38. I would prefer to have 25bb i think though for this play than 30bb. Thoughts?
jeans, saw you make several tight (or at least i thought so) folds UTG in the first half of vid (KQ56ds, KJ97 J hi suit).....also 9872 w suit otb unopened......can you go into ur thoughts on these folds specifically? do you fold them in zoom and not in reg games? assuming you would maybe fold them in tougher/higher stakes games but curious to hear your reasoning nonetheless
