Thanks you. With regards to bad sides, i m aware of higher variance and more complex nature ( not bad as such). are you referring to anything else.
also i have noticed swings r larger in PLO.
Also can u help me understand what kind of swings r normal in PLO??? Like 6-tabling NHLE, 5 BI downsings r pretty common, but above 10-15 BI, we need to take a look if it is variance or bad play.
As i m new and by all accounts a fish, i would like to know yard stick as to what swings r normal.

Hi,
M less than 1 month in on RIO, been a great experience so far, and from India.
So far in Poker, before i went on to make my BR, i have played PLO, although i have no tracked records, i m pretty sure i should have lost, since i had no idea of any kind of game then.
but then a few months back i decided to play poker more seriously, aspiring to go pro someday. i had played both PLO and NLHE and i can say for sure i was fish in NHLE.
Given humble starting BR, i saw which tables ran across sites.
i had roll of 2k, smallest tables of NHLE on Indian site were 100nl(0.5/1) and PLO were 200nl(1/2), but NHLE tables ran always and PLO not so much.
So with my humble BR and pathetic record, i decided to go with NHLE, learn the game etc. i figured PLO swings would wipe me out.
although i loved playing PLO more, simply since it was more complex.
now 4 months on, after study and grind, and table selection, i built my roll to 40k. Moved up in NHLE from 100nl to 200nl to 400nl and now in process to 1000nl. with a Evbb/100 of 10.44bb/100 across 220k hands.( Current WR is higher since first 70k hands i was just learing basic aspects of game, i assume ).
Skill level, i think i just know how to play NHLE as "ABC strategy". it works since my tables r soft.
i always comtemplated shifting to plo, but was not confident on my BR.
Now i m confused if it is right time????
IF yes, What stakes, we have PLO200(1/2) which runs everyday but not always and next is PLO1000(5/10). which run always. i m not good judge, but based on preflop limping and general showdowns i have seen ( have been following action although not playing to study plo) i believe pool is very soft. ( both PLO1k and PlO 200). i think PLO 1k is starting stake for most.
I m certain that i m going to switch to PLO someday, just not sure when. also higher variance and BRM being unclear and me not knowing even ABC or solid PLO strategy in experience is stopping me now.
so i though of posting my issue here.
Thanking you and apologies for long post.
Any views will help.

Thanks for Points.
Regarding Point 3, i have u meen to say i should take shot once i have 20+ Buy ins of level i m moving up to.... for instance now...i m playing 400nl with 36k BR, that is 90 BI.
level above is 1knl, currently that is 36 BI. so u mean i should take a shot above??

Hi everyone, Sorry for long Post, This is my first post here.
My Journey so far:
I have background in Finance( Equity). Since there were a lot of references to poker in equity books i decided to learn poker end of last year and fell in love with the game. Started taking game seriously this April, deposited INR 2k($29) on Pokerstars.in to play INR1/2 ( INR 200nl 0r $ 2.94).
Initially kept a 10 BI bankroll strategy ( Big noobish mistake in my part)
Had a bit of Beginners luck where i was Break even and had no clue for first 50-70k hands( I should have been losing slightly without Luck)
Then had a downswing where i had to move down to INR 0.5/1 (INR 100nl or $1.47).
This is when i started watching videos ( Free ones as i had no BR to go for paid ones then) and reading books. I came across Grinders Manual by Peter Clarke, Which i read and reread many times.
As downswings teach u, i shifted my BR strategy to 50BI.

Current Status:
Moved up with BR to 2/4 ( INR 400 NL or $5.88). Have a BR of INR 36k ($529). Posting images of other stats

I apologize as winning appear in $. They are in INR
What i learnt??
Maybe little ABC poker. i feel i m somewhere between a TAG and Aggro Fish ( Leaning more towards Aggro Fish tho, Lucky one so far).

So that is why i m here...i joined RIO...going through their Pro videos and learning. I have doubts on my Path ahead and i would love advice on it
1. Should i get a solver (GTO+) to understand my gameplay in a more strategic sense?? Start working with solver or is it too soon???
2. should i get a coach (if there is any as my BR can hardly afford a coach and most coaches i tried to approach dont seem to coach Indian students on profit sharing deal)?
3. The Pools so far are relatively soft.. i believe players at next level are more fundamentally aware players, so how can i quip myself to move up ????

Any other advice will be great.

Its my dream to get to 25/50 ( INR 5k or $73) by end of this year. I aspire to be a pro someday hopefully.

Thanks for being reading and i apologize for such a lengthy Post.
Lastly, Thanks a lot Peter Clarke for the wonderful book. I guess i might have lost my BR without it, and still be struggling at lowest stakes and mostly losing money. I Thank RIO for giving me a chance to be able to thank him as he is a RIO coach.
