Was wondering if you guys play this any different given my opponents here?
Is it correct to flat the large 3b pre with this hand?
Should I feel any different about the flop?
Thanks guys

Should probably mention Villian is 74/16/10

Yeah, maybe my sizing could have been better on the river. I just felt that him calling the turn was very strong and felt that I should go for a bigger bet, is that justifiable?
Either way
Hero bets [$2.46 USD]
SB raises [$10.67 USD]
How do we feel about our hand now? Second nuts is nice :)
And how would we feel if we had the same size stack as him?
Jan. 15, 2014 | 1:29 a.m.
yeah, that's the thing, I hate hitting nuts with no cash in the pot. I guess it's unavoidable in a way.
Is there merit jamming the pot button given the board multiway vs awful players?
Turn - Js

And yeah Zen, I can't imagine ever folding this flop to that bet, if SB checkraises then I'm mucking pretty much everytime.
Jan. 15, 2014 | 12:24 a.m.
Yeah I think the converter added 4 players fellas, 3 players to the flop for sure.

Thanks ZenFish! Oh wise one! You're ability to articulate your responses is nothing short of brilliant. You're really helping my game and the understanding of situations, I really can't thank you enough. Hopefully I'll be able to show you your advise put into action soon.

I'm no expert but the first thing I notice is that your hud is way over the top. I've heard a few coaches say that up to PLO100 you shouldn't really need one. I'm only using the standard vpip/pfr/3b/fv3b and RFI by position. I think these are big enough indicicators of the player type we're against. The only players I have decent (merged) stats on are regs and I'm not really looking to exploit them for the most part.

Wow thank you so much for taking the time to write this up people, awesome info! It's going to take me a while to study but it's a move in the right direction. Again, I really appriciate it!

As a beginner I'm finding this to be quite the grey area in PLO.
I'm not confident in my opening ranges and feel that I need to nail this so I can eventually start to add more tables. Don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to solve PLO (just yet) I just want to construct a mental range for opening from each position and 3 betting ip and oop vs x player type. The later of which I do very little of which is a big leak as far as I see it. I don't want to be writing out charts like im some SnG robot but, more clarification and some kind of reference would not go a miss.
I've not been able to find much material specific to this and feel going forward I need to overcome this lack of knowledge should I want to be confident grindding more volume per session. Currently I think I'll spew in more spots than I'm comfortable with, with-in a faster playing enviroment.
What say you ROI minions?

How do you feel flatting a pot bet (14bb) in this situation? I assume that's highly relevant!? Say for instance CO (with no reeds) pots and it's folded back to us?
Jan. 12, 2014 | 7:36 p.m.
CO: $5.13
BN: $17.49
SB: $9.90
BB: $16.70

Yeah looking back at this hand, you're right my turn play is the most questionable move here. I guess my river bet is ok if i have him as strong. I think can put him on J9xx 88xx even. And seeing as he gets checked to OTT there's the small possibility of bluffs. I do have a blocker in the J :)
Villian is 68/0/1.1
I ran this through PPT, I hope I did it correctly.
With a FD
AsJs9h - 63.9329%
Without
KhJhQdQc - 39.1364%
Js9hxx - 60.8636%
I guess the question is, what equity do we need to call the turn? How do we calculate that? Sorry if it's a noob question but I've never really gone into too much detail with equities.

"drawing to non-nut hands in multiway singleraised pots can be a significant leak, if are unable to fold after improving"
Gold.
Multiway pots are a regular occurance in these games, weather they be limped or singled-raised. You see people losing big pots with amazingly bad hands and tbh my range in these pots at a full table is not wide in the slightest compared with everyone else so in many ways I feel I have the edge a vast majority of the time but really that can be a smoke screen and the leak you talk of. So I will be exceptionally mindful of that in the future. Thanks again bro :)

Do you have a link to that video? Would love to see it!
Food for thought indeed, there's a little steam blowing out of my ears :) I'm gonna need to find some video material on blockers with examples. Thanks for taking the time Zen, appriciate it :)

Wow guys I can't thank you enough for your responces! Feels like a light bulb has just turned on in my head :D Solid advice. Lets see if I can implement this into my game.

Played a session late last night, could only get 4 tables running but the action was decent. I played a lot of HU and three handed, so the action was pretty fast and I got in a little more volume. I felt pretty comfortable and thought I was the best player in every game I played. Don't get me wrong, I'm far from the player I want to be and there's going to be a lot of hard work but I think the only skill you need to beat these guys is common sense.
A very common spot I've been coming across is when you have basically no showdown equity otr after firing both barrels with a wrap, flush draw and a pair type non value hands which brick out. These spots seem like a flip to me, especially if you're oop. I'm definitly not sure how to go about approaching them. I want fire the 3rd barrel so much but I think I'm getting called far too often at these stakes. In the same breath, barreling twice and checking the river has got to be the most explotative move in the game and can, every now and then, really confuse my spidey senses. Heres where the real guess work comes into play and a lot of money is made or indeed, lost D:
That all being said, not a bad session at all. My red line is starting to suffer from the short handed games but nothing to worry about for the time being especially with the multitude of over-limped, multiway pots I'm playing in muhahaha :D

Cool Iscooppotz, I'm interested, are you setting up a skype group?
Jan. 6, 2014 | 7:41 p.m.
Thanks, I'm going to add triple barrel frequency to my hud :)
You're def right in saying that these regs to tend to play face up and his river bet is quite large when it seems obvious I'm not folding lol.
Jan. 5, 2014 | 8:20 p.m.
Thanks guys! I think now it's a clear check OTR. I think the 9 is a good card to bet but I should be, as IJustCameForTheFreeCookies said, value owning them.
Also, I think the call on the flop is fine as I wouldn't be overly happy getting it in here, although that might be standard at higher stakes, I feel I don't need to gamble too much at these stakes and basically peddle, not sure if that makes me mega passive or not :/ lol
thanks for the feedback.
Jan. 5, 2014 | 8:16 p.m.
Yeah, I too really enjoyed this video and have learnt a lot from it, thanks :)
Also I'd like to add that although this seems to be posted in Mid stakes PLO i think it's still highly relevent at low stakes.

Ok, so my second session didn't go as well. I threw the towel in with an hour to go as it was very clear to me that I had played too long in bad conditions. In hindsight, I played too many pots OOP with weaker holdings than I normally would vs spewy stations who allways seem to have it by the river.

Session graph
One thing I have picked up on is that I've been getting into far too many river situations where I'm potting nut hands hoping to get paid off big vs fish, when infact I haven't been putting any thought into my bet sizing, really. Cue Tom's Video on Bet Sizing - http://www.runitonce.com/pro-training/videos/tom15/ - What a video! It feels good to have a much clearer view on what I should be betting and why. I will implement this into my next session and will hopefully have some material for us to discuss.

oop I personally shut it down after the flop unless my hand improves, that mabe nitty I don't know but it's safe and stops me spewing.

BB: $3.99
UTG: $4.09
HJ: $3.83

Love the video Tom!
I def need to be opening a little tighter UTG as Hero folded a few hands correctly that I've been opening so thanks for that :)
You mentioned you'd like to see Hero have some post flop hud stats. I heard you say Donk Bet, Float Bet and probe bet(?) I'm using HM2 and I can't find the later two, are they named something else? I've realised that the few stats that I have are pre also, so some post may come in handy. Would you consider doing a video on an indepth look at HUD stats relative to PLO? I would find that really handy and I'm sure many others would too.
The hand at 45:27 on the lower right table where you weren't 'entirely sure' about the situation. In hindsight, do you feel the hand was played correctly? I only ask really because your tone changed for a while after the hand.
Love the picture of you at the top of the pro videos section. I had invisaged you wearing top hat and tails whilst doing the videos :D
