Hero ??? (I folded)

Villain is tricky, and capable of weird bluffs.

What is your play here in a vacuum, and why?

Since this was on a rogue with site, I'm too lazy to format the HH. Hopefully this is clear enough. Villain is solid. No meta between us. We are both 250BB deep.

So, there's 6 players, and I raise 3x UTG with KcKd. (This raise was actually small compared to the norm in the game at the time)

Villain calls on the button, everyone else folds. Flop comes 2c 9h Td. Pot: 1500
I lead out for 600. Villain raises to 1400. I call.

Turn comes 2c 9h Td 5h. Pot: 4300
I check. Villain bets 3000. I call.

River comes 2c 9h Td 5h Jh. Pot: 10300
I check. Villain bets 8000. I call.

I'm unsatisfied with how I played, and question three things:
1) My flop lead out.
2) Lack of C/R on either flop or turn.
3) Call OTR.

Thoughts and comments?

Checkraise the flop the majority of the time. Or even just lead out. C/Cing should not be your default play on the flop.

On the turn, I think it's close between c/(c/r) and donking. Maybe do both 75/25%. I definitely feel like most players at this limit check back the turn a bit too much with Ax here. Still very susp. of Ax.

OTR I actually prefer an overbet. Perhaps 1.5x pot. Then decide on a shove, (depending more on the specifics of the villain)

As played, I'm calling hoping to see an overplayed AJ-AK, or a bluff.

Yep, just push. You're getting value from a lot of hands, and you're also credibly repping a lot of bluffs.

Betting smaller doesn't have a lot of merit because we're allowing him to get it all in with hands that beat us, and get a discount for weaker hands that would normally otherwise call a push.

Yeah, it was a standard raise. That's the sizing I used for all my raises in that particular game.

I sat down like 10 hands or so ago at that point and had no reads unfortunately. This was also a high stakes play money game (25k50k 6max on full tilt) since 1m =  $4 - $6, you could say the game is roughly 25nl.

25/50 blinds 10 antes, no reads on villain

everyone is roughly 200bb deep.

I'm utg with KsKd, I raise to 225 , 2 callers both in position.

flop: 3h 4h 7d

I bet 500 into 800 pot, 1 fold, button min raises to 1000, i call.

turn: 9d

I check, button bets pot 2800, i call.

river: 8s

I check, button goes all in for 6275 into 8400 pot.

hero:?

I folded and was genuinely confused. I planned on calling any non heart bet on the river, but i just froze up and folded.

Was this fold correct? What could I have done better in this hand?

BTW: when I mucked, he showed a missed heart flush draw.
