Post | EpicJourney posted in Chatter: Small Blind Raises Little Blind

I've heard people say that when you're in the small blind, and everyone has folded (so just you and the big blind), that you're supposed to raise the big blind.

People seem to say this play is standard.

Is that true? How come?

You're out of position and you're creating a bigger pot...

Thank you for any and all input

Thank you both - I really do appreciate the feedback

I liked Jeff Hwang's book. I read the follow-up 1 too in the series. They're pretty thick with information and he writes really well. He's really good at explaining concepts.

Post | EpicJourney posted in Chatter: Remembering how hands play out

I can generally remember what types of hands people have played and put them on a range. But I can't really remember how they played them.

Is there a good method or any video recommendations to help me out with the 2nd half?

Do people literally remember or do they sorta just fudge it and make best guess estimates? And lastly: is it one of those 'either you have it or you don't' skill situations?

Any method/video recommendations as well as thoughts/input are greatly appreciated.

Thank you

Post | EpicJourney posted in Chatter: Essential Member ICM Video

Hi,

Can anyone recommend an Essential member ICM video?

I don't fully understand the concept. I'm looking for a video where the instructor really explains it as simple as possible from scratch.

I did search on my own but didn't find the type of ICM video I was looking for.

Thx

Post | EpicJourney posted in NLHE: NY Study Group

Hi,

I recently signed up for the site and haven't had time to really explore it = please let me know if this isn't the right site spot to post for a study group and I'll move it to the correct spot.

I'm looking to start a study group. I want to focus mostly on using Flopzilla and running poker hand scenarios.

I also want to take the Port Authority bus to AC or Sands once in a while with the group members. Just to get live experience, to be able to talk about the hands we each played, and then eventually use what we talk about during the next trip.

So, I don't really mind talking through Skype or in person or however the group wants to do it. But I do want the group to extend beyond talking poker and actually taking bus trips (once in a while) to a casino to play.

Please let me know if you're interested.

Thx
