Hi guys
I'm looking to join a WhatsApp group discussing Poker/hands/advice etc.
I play small stakes in the UK.
Does anyone know of a group willing to add players in?!
Thanks.

The lead out on the river screams value to me. Fold River.

Hi Zen,
Cheers for the reply.
Do you think Mixed games is the future for Online Poker or do you see NLH still being dominant over the next couple of years?
Thx

Hi Guys
Does anybody know any good books to learn 8-game/H.O.R.S.E please?
Thanks

Dont you think looking after the fish is a good thing? If they think they know the regs are tooled up to the max with all sorts of software ready to take their money!
I can honestly see your point, HUDs fo give a massive amount of info to which you can exploit but I just think its not good for the game as a whole. Two different points of view. Thanks for the input mate. Much appreciated.

Quido, wasnt what I meant mate, not 'No' information, just you gather your own info as you play rather than looking at stats, someone has a high fold to 3bet % so i'll expliot that! Its just scientific. Not what Poker is all about (for me) all about getting reads, adjusting as you go. I think Huds are taking the Art out of the game rather than just simply crunching numbers.

Surely less information forces you to be more creative? Having information given to you isnt being creative, its a science.

Hi Guys
Anyone else hoping Phils potential new site doesnt allow HUDs?? Or is that just me? :)
Taking the whole Art out of the game, getting more and more scientific! Soon we'll be wired up for our heartbeats and measuring pupil dialation! Ok thats a bit extreme but you get the picture!
Surely, the game should be left to the creative??
Thoughts?

I think a bet on the flop would probably be best. Giving him an option for a free card on a wet board is tricky. Getting more info with a bet.
As played, fold the river.

Seen it many a time at these stakes from AK, AQ, AJ, KQ, 66, 77, 88. Maybe i'm too stubborn! :)

Dont feel stupid. These situations make you play better in the future!
Sept. 5, 2016 | 3:54 p.m.
I would be folding here. They've bet every street. AK gives up on the turn. I would be putting them on QQ/KK+
I think you were right in calling up until the river. The shove shows you're beat I think.
Sept. 5, 2016 | 3:28 p.m.
Agree with Tom, flop bet needs to be bigger.
Seems very AKish :)
Never folding here.

I think he's played a set, badly! I agree with arsenalua, fold but keep an eye on their future lines.
Sept. 5, 2016 | 3:16 p.m.
Folding 9's in 6max a bit tight, no?
Sept. 5, 2016 | 3:10 p.m.
Great, thanks a lot. I'll check it out!

Hi Guys
Does anyone know any sites where hands are played out as in a game situtution which will allow the user to construct hand ranges with the cards revealed after the hand?
Thanks

Thanks David, thats exactly what I have been doing lately. I'm not concentrating on short terms results. If I make the right play and lose, thats fine, i'm happy because I know in the long run it'll be profitable.
Goal setting has also definitely helped!

Agree with Insilicio that the turn bet needs to be a bit more. Cant see you up against a set (except maybe 66) , think this leans towards two pair in my opinion and I wouldnt fold, jam seems fine to me and thats certainly what I would do.

Hi Guys
I have been using RIO to look for advice on how to play various hands in different spots plus every day poker advice but I felt I needed to practice putting people on a range of hands so I signed up to AdvancedPokerTraining.com where I could do this using certain hands/ positions etc.
Has anyone else used this site and what do you think of its reliability in a real world environment where money is involved?
Thanks

Hi Guys
Even though the reintroduction of Online Poker becoming Legal again in the States seems like a lifetime away do you think if it ever returns it will induce a second poker boom and how do you think it will alter the current state? Will there be a 'fish frenzy' and the current climate will prepar us for it or has the game reached a level where only the very slightest edges are apparent?
Thanks

Before you play any further hands I would definitely recommend two books - The Mental Game of Poker and Talent is Overrated. These helped me massively!!
Like a lot of people who have mentioned already, what you are going through has happened to A LOT of players. It seems to me that you are looking for a shortcut to making money in Poker, its not going to happen and never will! Forget making money in Poker, for now anyway! Just focus on getting better, the money will follow! Dont look at your bankroll and think, that $500, 3k, 4k is mine, look at it for it is, a tool! If you look after your roll and play at the stakes that your BR allows you will never have to spend another penny!! Unless you are terrible!! :) Ye its sucks playing low stakes when all you want to do its take in big scores, especially when you take a few hits and realise its going to take another long gring to get back to where you were! Its painful, but necessary! Everytime this happens you learn from what went wrong! Imagine the main weaknesses you have now no longer being a weakness! Imagine how much of a danger you would be at the table!
All players at the higher limits have been through this. Just becuase you have a roll for 100NL becuase of external funds doesnt mean that you should play those stakes, players at 100NL have earned their way to get to that spot! They will out play you! They have the edge! They have played the 10NL, 25L and 50NL, learning at each level. I play 25NL (Used to play 10NL for years), I tried 50NL but got outplayed and was playing with 'scared' money which didnt allow me to play at my optimum level so I dropped back down, it stings but my BR is in tacked and i'm grinding a profit. In Poker you're going to lose its as simple as that! Everyone loses at somepoint! So its crucial to play the games where you have an edge in order to win!
So key points I would focus on;
- Highlight weaknesses and work on improving them (Your C game)
- Forget about making money, just focus on getting better!
- Realise there are no shortcuts
- Play comfortably within your BR
- Be Patient
- Again......Forget about making money!!
Sorry for the long post :) Hope that it helps though!
Good luck mate
