Hello there, people.
Hope you are enjoying the holiday grind :)
Anyways, got the following hand at the end of a 12h sesh at 25NL, quite unusual (at least for me). Please share how you would approach it if you will, I'm providing my take below.
CO (unknown) opens to 2.5bb, Hero 3b BU to 7.5bb with AxQs, CO flats. (16.4bb pot, 93 effective stacks)
F: A54ssx. CO donks 5.3bb, Hero calls (27bb pot, 87.7 eff)
T: 7x. CO bets 8bb, Hero raises to 27bb, Villian jams, Hero calls. Villian shows 63dd.
Typically, I would raise flop to about 17bb, however, as Villian's unknown also taking the generally soft field and the line taken into account, I assumed he was recreational and decided to give him a card, planning to raise most non-spade turns and stack off rivers.
Retrospectively, I see many problems with the way I played the hand while his donk makes SOME sense with his particular hand and 76 combos.
Anyways, would you mind sharing your opinion, I would highly appreciate it.
Thanks! :)

Hi there,
Last few hands into the session I get into that nasty spot. The issue is that I don't see myself playing it differently as IMO, he should not have too many KJ and should typically be capped to 99,1010 + probably some random FDs at a low frequency (maybe AJcc) as population plays extremely wild at those stakes (saw much worse punts throughtout the sesh). Even if we give him a range of 99,1010 + KJs/o we still have 53% equity.
My main question is how does the fact that we are 370bb deep could potentially affect my line of play. Could I possibly just call flop or fold to the jam once raised (there's 25$ in the pot with 45$ behind)? Generally speaking, him cc OOP seems fishy to me + donk o/bet flop 3way but still, would love to hear your opinion as I'm obviously a bit inexperienced playing that deep.
THANK YOU!

Hi! Seems like the invitation link has expired.
I would like to join as well. Made the move to 25NL few months ago with a relative success. Could you please provide a new one?
Thanks!

Hi.
Could you please explain why wouldn`t you raise flop in that spot?
Asking since I play 25NL (not entirely confident in my postflop game) and typically raise there as it`s hard for me to see the logic behind just calling (especially that deep).
Thanks a lot!

Hey guys, Ive been scrolling through some older posts searching for a discord group but few are still relevant/having a link for me to join. I am a low/micro mtt winning player, putting in the hours so I am looking for a group to analyse hands together and share experience. Please let me know if you have one or are interested in creating a new, Id really appreciate it! Thanks in advance.

Thank you for the tips, I totally agree with your opinion about not playing high stakes yet. The case was that I had a free 11$ ticket on party which I turned to a 530$ for a couple of hours. (small mistake, I wrote it`s the BB 530 when it was actually the Bounty Hunter High-roller, whatever) Unfortunately, I asked the support whether I will be able to turn it into T$ but got refused. Anyways, it was a great experience and the fact that it was not as tough as expected (still, plenty of recreationals on Party even at these stakes, probably because of the free sat tickets they give away daily) motivates me for the future.
Thanks again and GL!!!

First of all, thank you for replying. I could not cash but it was a great experience and I think i gained more by realizing that the skill gap between low and high stakes is not as big as I thought, they seem beatable. My initial expectations were clearly unrealistic(yes, still, there were some people with 1m+ cashes but also enough recreationals to make up for that) due to my really short experience in tournaments. As a result, Im much more optimistic about the future and motivated to beat the game, so imo thats even better than cashing. Anyways, GL and thank you both for sharing your opinions, really beneficial for me. <3

Bounty Builder 530$ (RE-POST FROM THE HIGH-STAKES SECTION)
Hello everyone,
Ive been following the forum for a while now so the time has come for my first post. In short, Ive been grinding out the lower stakes 5-22$ tournaments on party/888 for a couple of months since I switched to MTTs from the Micro CG grind and its been going great. Anyways, I won a ticket for the 530$ bounty builder but based on my inexperience in online MTTs and the fact that my biggest buy-in (online) till now was 22$ I feel as if Id need some solid advice on how to approach these "High rollers". I am using solid ranges, probably well-protected so my questions are mainly related to population tendencies on these stakes or maybe you could share how you guys approach these tournaments in general(if you feel like it of course).
I posted this at the high stakes section but thought that guys here might give useful advice as well, I am open to everything (also time is pretty limited since the tournament is tomorrow).
Thank you and GL!!!

Thank you for the quick response, Michael.
Exactly my thinking. Also, I did not really take into consideration his stats due to the 54 hand sample.
Just for the record, he turned out having KJo.
