Why is this site (allegedly) being a Ponsi scheme not bigger news? I recently freerolled it up on Lock and have been hearing everyone openly complain in chat about not getting paid for 15 months, trying to sell Lock money for $0.20 on the dollar etc and yet I have a subscription to Card Player and Bluff but haven't heard a single whisper about it.
Even more disturbing is that Card Player is actively recruiting players to Lock, not only through ads on their web site but in allowing them to advertise in their magazine.
I did check 2+2 after hearing everyone complain in chat and there is a ton of hub bub on there about it but I don't frequent that site. Even ahead of a lot of Lock's current issues, I found in my search that the Calvin Ayre blog was WAY ahead of this story reporting that the owner was a scammer in stories from 2010. I'm sure the poker magazines have more resources and a better focus on the world of poker than a general gambling blog.
The few I read seemed pretty damning

I thought something like this would be common knowledge by now or a bigger story but I was unaware (some what skeptical because their tourns don't fill regularly and some frequently don't meet guarantees, but unaware of the cash out problems before playing on there to begin with). Especially with the big roster of pros they had up until very recently it seemed like an OK option at worst.
Anyway, in case I'm not the last MF on earth to hear about this, avoid the site.

UP is much better than WSOP. IMO WSOP is just a converted play money site in almost every way and they have coding problems, nonexistent customer service and disconnect errors that cost people $$ (including me).
You can search 2+2 for all the angry posts but if you are planing a trip to NJ UP will definitely be the easiest way to play. In Vegas you can deposit at the cage live in person and verify your account (21 yoa+) before going on your trip, then just turn on the laptop and you're ready to go. WSOP hoop after hoop... You might seriously have to wait days to play.
