nice video brian.

on the hand against frenchdwag I think it is a very good fold since a lot of your bluffs are betting turn, random bdoor clubs/T9/KQ/KT/ and if he is betting against your range that lean towards value I think it is a mandatory fold. Since the board is so dry I don't mind x-b-b and actually prefer it against his cold calling range since his x/f range otf improve in a lot of turns.

Thanks Raphael. I agree with your analysis, I can definitely see check being better than a bet on the flop. I think I just had in my head that I would def get called by an 8x between two opponents. Maybe it's better to bet 3 ways but check back if it's only the SB that calls.

Hi Brian,

Loved the video.  In regards to the 33 hand, you mentioned shoving preflop is an option with 27bb. At what stack depth does this become bad?   I had thought (I really struggle with this part of my game) that 27bb would be too much to just shove and was a standard call.  Is 3-bet folding bad with 27bb?  Thanks in advance.

You can shove small pairs in that kind of spot with quite a lot of BBs and have it still be +cEV. The thing is that calling is just going to be more +cEV at larger stack sizes. With 27bbs, it's pretty reasonable to jam over an open and a flat, especially when I know how wide the opener's range is and if I feel the SB's flatting range doesn't have enough hands that can call. Calling is a perfectly fine option as well though, it's just a case-by-case kind of thing.

3b folding with a small pair in this situation probably isn't great. There are better hands with blockers to be 3b folding, and your small pair has more equity vs a 4b jamming range that it kinda sucks to 3b/f.

Good stuff- just want to give positive feedback overall but more so on the 33 hand; Even if you shoved preflop, the talk about your decision making is precisely the kind of thing I would personally like to see from a very accomplished tournament player like yourself.  I need to train myself on how things change between cash games and tournaments and I think the 33 hand is a prefect example.

Looking forward to more!

Thanks Wyse. I try to explain things thoroughly, some people like it, some people don't. Good to hear reinforcement that people do enjoy it.
