Hey Jeremy,

Had a few thoughts on the QJ hand at 19:00.

First, I think that you're right in that we're targeting a 1 pair type hand here, and are bet/calling. I think we need to size down our river bet, maybe 35-40k. We're looking for calls and I think psychologically he will be more willing to call off closer to 1/3 his stack, rather than 1/2 his stack, and we can still have some missed hearts and 68 and stuff in our range we use this smaller sizing with as a bluff. I don't really ever like check calling here after we've lead the turn, I like "block betting" as stated. I think he'd be hard pressed to bluff the river with air or turn a 1 pair hand into a bluff on this river, and if we check/call, I think we have a losing hand the vast majority of the time.

Thanks for the thoughts Turkeyspanka. After looking back I agree that a smaller river bet may be slightly more effective, as we are targeting a call from one pair hands as you mentioned. We don't have a ton of bluffs in our range by the river here except combos of 68, 56, and perhaps some Axhh hands that we could potentially take this line with so with less bluffs in our range sizing down the river bet does have a lot of merit.

I also agree that check calling the river will not yield a lot of value as our opponent should be checking back all one pair hands and potentially even worse two pair hands, and their really aren't many hands he can turn into a bluff besides the occasional hearts that missed. When thinking about this from the villain's perspective, it seems he should be bluffing this river more frequently do to the fact that we aren't even that happy about calling with top two pair which is close to the top of our range. Block betting the river with a hand like the one we have can prevent such bluffs, but I'm thinking that in this spot if we do check the river our opponent should be betting nearly 100% of his bluffs and potentially even low pairs with little showdown value he got to the river with, given the very few combos that we can check call with on this river. This is an intriguing spot and I'm curious to hear what you guys thoughts are on this situation.

Hey Jeremy,

the hand a little before 13:00 against Marroca5, you argue that he wont be able to find a call with his range. If you are bluffing Kqs,QJs,87s and valuing TT-99,ATs,JTs,T9s is he not getting great odds to call?

Great video Jeremy, really nice talk about calling ranges and 3betting ranges in different positions, mostly in the blinds...
I like too the check raise at minute 42, i like that move with that 2 backdoors projects, but what would u do if he calls and the river is a brick, like the 2 of hearts? Do you check the turn? I find myself hard to play that hands OOP. I know that i would bet the turn with any diamond, but what about with a 3 5 8 or 9 no diamonds? Do you keep betting?

Loved the K6h hand bob on A8hhK flop , loved the analysis as well. I think with Q10/QJ hands making this same line -tiny bet flop, big bet turn (incomparison) and after ur analysis i think could be adzactly what he had esp with diamonds bd fd. I think thats what he has as often as 40% of time as considering ur line is synonmous with a King he can make this play to 1 look like value and 2 to move u off a King in a juicy pot for him to win. I call despite the % of time he can be valuing all the 2 pairs and straights, u set the hand up for perfect for this 1 play of his.

Hope to see more vids from you maybe lower buy ins at all ??
great vid great coach .ty !
